What former player in the last 30 years or so was the highest ranked prospect out of high school that we have signed? I know Champ was a top 100 guy but can't recall any others.

Probably been said and I missed it... but he would have to sit next year correct?

He wants to sit out regardless.

But the NCAA is rumored to allow players a one time transfer without sitting out.

If that doesn’t go into effect for next season, he could get a waiver too.

But that’s all pretty mute right now. He wants to sit out to rehab some lingering injuries.

That would be something! I remember watching him play against Payton at BHS and running into some of this teammates afterwards at Portilo's. He hadn't decided on where he was going yet so I asked his teammates if there's any chance he might want to stay 'closer to home'. They all looked at me like I was stupid. I was like that goalie in Slapshot -- "I felt shame".

If we get him I'll have no problem sitting through another dumpster fire year knowing we have him waiting in the wings. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I saw Okoro play in a high school Christmas tournament. He was intimidating defensively. He would be a great addition to our team.

I saw him play two or three times against BHS while he was at West...I remember writing on here somewhere that he wasn’t being used right at West. From my memory, he did a lot of standing around the perimeter setting high ball screens. Could be a foggy memory but I don’t remember being overly impressed when I saw him two years ago. Admittedly, I was more focused on Chris Payton at the time.

Welcome aboard Frank. Looking forward to a couple dominant years in the MVC.

Hope it's true. He was raw in HS, but physically he was a college kid.

There will be one scholorship open next year (probably 2/3 after transfers). Imagine getting bot Okoro and Payton at ISU...just two years later.

I wonder if Okoro is confirmed if it would help get Payton here. I still want Payton if they can determine he's got his head on straight now. His highlight tape in college is ridiculous.

Sit one, play two? That would make his senior year same as DJ and Reeves?

Correct. They will all be juniors and senior together barring a redshirt from one of them in the future. It's possible even Okoro could get another redshirt season if he takes this one as a transfer year and not a medical year. He could use his medical later if need be. That's what I would do if i were him.

Okoro played in 29 games last year and 37 as a frosh. There's no medical redshirt available to him.

Looking at the numbers today. Okoro based on his numbers from last year would have the 5th best player rating on our team last season. Assume that only goes up with a year to work on his game and the change in competetion.

I am begging our coaching staff, please please please throw him the dang ball in 2 years.

I know this offends people on here, but next season is a throw away. We should be working all year how to make an offense work with Horne, Reeves, and Okoro. I know Okoro can't play, but then need to start working on things when he becomes eligible.

This year. He wants to sit out to heal. Why cant he medical redshirt in the future based on what he did at oregon im confused. im saying use this as a transfer redshirt in case he gets hurt in the future. what he did at oregon should hurt him should he go down at ISU in a year or two.

Yes, I understand that means he would have to petition to get a 6th season. They give those out like water nowadays. It isnt the Tarise Bryson era. If Lofton can get 23 season then Okoro can get 6.

That's not how it works. If it was, Fisher wouldn't be a senior.

Well, that's the NCAA for you, huh.
