Actually cpa, i guess 120 wins vs 800 wins does put Dan in a rookie category...relatively speaking.

Yeap. @Belmont is a big one. They will be much more disciplined than FGCU was. A lot less athletic too. Veteran coach vs rookie one. Hope the boys are up for the challenge!

Probably making too much of this but Dan's a rookie? I know the Belmont coach teaches good basketball and has about 800 wins, but Dan's been going at it for 20 yrs now. I agree with the point of your post though.

Also, you'll see Stallings at the game. Closer to the Belmont coach than he is Dan!

Would be cool to beat Belmont with Stallings there. It would give Dan one more win than Stallings at ISU.

Wow, really?? Crazy. There's a timing to everything, man...

Pretty sure he meant FGCU's coach was a rookie HC.

Frankly, I believe FGCU lost this game more than we won it. That's all.

FGCU got trounced in the late first half. If the birds could ever keep a lead it wouldn't have even been close. They were up by at least 13 at one point but like usual they let the team back in the game. Hell, they even let a D3 team back in the game. That will be their Achilles heal. You can't do that verse good teams.

Did anyone else think the electric guitar version of the National Anthem was in extremely poor taste and a disgrace to not only ISU but especially to the National Anthem itself? Everyone in our section was embarrassed. Personally, I thought a very bad reflection on ISU. I'd love to know who gave the OK for that to be played. Additionally, the young man who was emcee during time-outs....cannot understand a word he said...talks way too fast.

Great to hear Steve Adams back on the P.A. Hope he continues to do our games as his health permits.

Thought the same thing about the National Anthem. It was awkward.

I thought it was best anthem ever to be honest. But, I love rock music. why does it have to be sung? sometimes at events they just play an orchestra recording. whats the difference besides instrument used. what, are you 80 and think rock is the devil?

I'm pretty sure it was the Jimi Hendrix anthem from Woodstock. I thought it was just odd. I don't have a problem with that version, but it's a 4 minute version of the anthem. A lot of awkward looks after that.

I think they need to get rid of the timeout promotions. The best atmosphere they had in Redbird in a while was for the Volleyball game the other night. Just let the band play or some up tempo music. Unless you have something actually exciting like the garbage sack race to the top of the Arena like the old days, it just seems like you are at a high school sporting event.

There's a difference to having a talented artist playing it with guitar a la Jimi Hendrix. I love that version. Having a mascot air guitar his way through it... No thanks.

I thought it was silly, especially on election day.

YES I saw two service men in full dress standing and saluting, both had a wince on their face.

The National Anthem is meant to be sung along to by the crowd. Last night's version and Roseanne's doesn't cut it. I'm not 80, but I'm 71 and I respect the flag.
