As for the women's game - we arrived at halftime, and I believe the score was 49-27. The women have several Freshman who look really good. Came close to scoring 100 - but, I believe it was best, that did not happen.

May have to go to a few of the games this year. What is strange - my son and I have no problems going - however, my wife and daughter do not like going to watch the women's games - complained the whole time and even after we got home.

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed doing that. KG and staff have developed a program that is real easy to like. KG is a “fiery” coach, but she is not profane - if that make sense. The MVC has/had their share of those.

As far as the game: if this were a true buy game exhibition or regular season, like Lourdes, then we can call all the shots. IWU would then get their seats behind their bench and that’s pretty much it. Having it a DH, you have the family seating areas for not 2 teams, but 4. You also have seats for both schools admins/major donors. I agree with those expressing that this was all known info going into the game. Same with the Return to Horton game; although I do agree that STHs should be let in 10-15 min early with that.

Really, it makes too much sense not to do this annually. If you're gonna have an exhibition might as well be them

I heard from multiple people at the game, who were not in the same group, that they had problem with ST holders telling them to get out of their seats and being downright rude.

Sorry fam, but we gotta lose the entitled attitude that we seem to have as a fan base. It was a game for the community, to raise money for charity and play a game that hasn't been played since most of us have been alive. I wish I could say I was surprised when I heard about the issues, but I wasn't. Not even a little.

Yeah I think an unintended consequence of the portal is the elimination of non-medical redshirts. Or maybe it was intended but you can't afford to sit freshmen hoping they develop any more. They won't stick around and you'll get nothing for all that time and effort you put into developing them.

Was the talk of where I was sitting. Everytime a ST tried to do that, a number of us would remind them it was general admission so the person rightfully in the seat didn't feel alone.

One ST was so rude it was ridiculous. They showed up 5 minutes into the men's game and expected the person who had been there for both games to give up their seat. We made sure it did not happen.

My main issue was not that it was general admission it was the fact there were large areas that were blocked off. When we got there were many empty seats in areas that were deemed VIP. Thats not general admission. I understand having areas but to me there were way too many that were blocked off.

This is why we cannot have nice things.

Same people that last saw these teams probably punching air over someone being in “their seats” yesterday.

Seating at this thing is a joke!!! Why would season ticket holder in the lower bowl have to sit upstairs. All vip seating down low. Typical ISU shit show. Lets bring a D3 on campus and let their fans do whatever the hell they want!!!
They have said since this beginning that seating was general admission and to get their early.

And those areas were all filled in by the start of the men's games. They had one area for the admins of both schools (most of it filled in before the women's game began) and areas for the players and coaches family and friends for each of the four teams. The two areas for the men's teams started to fill up during the end of the women's games. If you showed up before the women's game you could find a seat in the lower bowl. So lets see, show up to watch the team that was unrolling a banner and receiving rings that day and sit in the lower bowl. Come later because you only care about a team that hasn't made a NCAA tournament in 20 years and you are regulated to the upper bowl. Sounds like maybe more people should jump on the bandwagon and support our winning programs. Also, from a marketing perspective, this is a game to show off both schools to everyone in the community. So you have some IWU fans that had a great experience at Redbird Arena and they decide to come back for another game or two. We tell them they can only sit in the upper bowl and all they remember is how badly we treated them. Also, even though ISU hosted it, this was a community event and a fundraiser at that. Both universities did a great job collaborating on this and I appreciate everything they did. Between this and Ballin' on Beaufort, our Athletics department has been hitting it out of the park lately.

Overall, it was fun. I agree! You could be playing a team from out of state and it wouldn't be perfect.

Well said. We played great and the atmosphere was great. And I second your thoughts on the athletic department. Look forward to seeing what they come up with next.

If more coaches would adopt this way of thinking there wouldn’t be a huge numbers of transfers year end year out
Pops - respectfully offering here - but are you kidding? Freshman play all the time in this era. And...some kids are just not ready for the jump. Nothing wrong with that! If kids wouldn't transfer so quick they'd probably see better results as a player! JMO. FYI I'm not against freshman and I'm not against transferring.

JMO but it's the KID who is hurt the most in that process. Meaning there are a multitude of kids out there who are NOT reaching their potential because they think the grass is greener...even after multiple stops!!! (I do recognize that sometimes the grass can be greener somewhere else)

And it's giving the whole system a diluted product on the court!! Team chemistry is not built in a few months.

Yet...it's the way of the world today...so be it.

Yeah I might be jumping the gun but, I think this team have enough to be at or near the top of the MVC seriously I do. This team have a true 1 and bigs that can bang as well as pass the ball. That allow players to play their game suites to their skill set. There can be an inside out game. This team have smart pieces this year, no one need to be trying to do too much and to me that’s the biggest difference.
Personally I loved the guard depth and that they all guarded hard. On paper it looked like we would improve there, but wow was it evident on the defensive end.
