Who the hell is going to step up and be our TWills. 41points I don't think so. If you are not going to the defensive boards...use your ass to keep guys from crashing ...otherwise you can be a spectator on the bench. Use the Christmas Break to reflect if you are Division 1 player and team that will compete in the second season of Conference play. Show the fans you are going to protect the home court. A new seat and a beer does not do it for me!

But . . . what about the cup holder for your beer? ;)

I saw him a couple of months ago and he said this is an evaluation yr for Dan. So yes I believe he is aware of the lack of success and the frustration among alums. I am sure Chris Highland in Development is feeling the pain of having a hoops program in disarray

Evaluation year sounds to me like next year is the decision year.

Well, the administration does NOT want to find the funds for the buyout. The problem began with the contract extension - you cannot give these type of extensions, when you do not have the resources to meet the buyout. We are not the Big Fourteen who receive big TV checks and significant shared revenue from Bowl games and multiple teams in the NCAA tournament.

Once again, it all gets back to management. I know several said they were going to email President Dietz, but did not give an email address. His official email is President@IllinoisState.edu.

Muller dragging this program into the mud has completely tarnished the good reputation he built here as a player.

Being paid multi millions takes the sting out out destroying his legacy.

Agreed. They need to show some serious game to game improvement the rest of the season, both individually and as a team, for them to even think about keeping Muller.

Glad I started disengaging from the program. No donation or tickets this year, as I continue retirement transition, looking to leave the state as my youngest graduates HS in May. Good for those who still find enjoyment in ISU MBB. For me, being pissed about ISU MBB just isn’t worth it anymore.

The admins have to know it’s bad when even the RBF Kool aid crew is starting to question the coach.

ISU basketball has become a nice punch line to several jokes.

Muller should be canned, and Lyons right there with him. Anyone involved with approving Mullers contract extension should also be evaluated. They are enablers in the demolition of Redbird basketball .

What a damn joke.

The sad thing is Dana and Torrey got Muller enough talent early on to win and Muller blew it. Since losing those two you could see the talent falling off in recruiting. Dan thought for sure he would get to one NCAA tournament with the first recruiting class and could leave. He’s never wanted to stay, but can’t win enough to leave. So he didn’t put in the time to recruit. He brought in one bad assistant after another that couldn’t recruit. Now we are in a sinkhole he can’t coach his way out of.

I’m envious. I wish I could disassociate. I’m going to try though...

Over the last few years I’ve only been able to invest time. My life priorities have completely changed as I’m a father at age 46. I can’t invest money. Muller isn’t going anywhere so it’s not worth speculating or hoping for change. Way too much $$$.

This program isn’t worth my time besides checking this board.

I didn’t even know we played today.

Similar comments over and over. It’s clear we are all begging for a winner. We all complain because we want the same thing. The AD as a whole probably thinks we are unreasonable and attacking. I’ve seen more school pride in Volleyball and an underwhelming football team that played their asses off to salvage a season with no QB than I’ve ever seen outside of Sunday let downs in MBB.

Didn't Muller write a letter to boosters a few years ago promising that he would make our men's basketball program an elite program?

After last year, on paper, this team was thought to have more players that could score. So far that appears to be the case, except for the inconsistent scoring in the paint. The 2 freshman are promising as they understand how to score in areas besides a 3 and a layup. As for as defense..thought they had enough horses to get more stops. Hoped the addition of veteran coaches would be able to get this team to buy in before now and challenge Dan's coaching comfort zone. Bird Friend..my beer cupholder is the same as last year....floor. Keeps it ice cold especially for my forehead

Same here. Long time season ticket holder that had enough after last year. Couldn’t get me to walk into RA this year if you gave me free front row seats.

Roadrunners are fast...but Redbirds fly faster. Game ending 3 point ally oop helps ends the second half at 69-69. In OT...Birds score 20....89-69 win for the REDBIRDS.

Just to clarify....I really wanted the game to end in the manner that I stated....but this 89-70 result...is such a slap in the face.

What has happened to the team I believed in? I saw HOPE when this team started playing together.

I always believe any team can beat any team. BUT with this team...somebody has got to get into their heads and fix this crap. This should be a champion....but somebody has got to get their heads screwed on straight.

Evaluation year will be every year until this awful contract runs out! It’s obvious they are waiting til the contract expires in 2023?

I’ll still follow the program, and hope for the best, but financial and emotional investment hasn’t worked for 20 years. Taking a break from being pissed off about ISU MBB.
