How is it that ISU has an offensive Associate Coach and, yet, has no offense? Passing the ball around the perimeter until 3 is launched is not an offense. That kind of offense is like popping corn with no lid. And... when the ball does go inside it is more often than not a bounce pass to the feet of the big who is double teamed.
Big, you are giving the offense to much credit. I must have missed the passing going on. It’s usually the 1 on 1 game. There is a lot of dribbling....and very little passing/cutting. Easy to defense if you have good defensive guards.

The P5 is losing just as many guys
Yeah but a Power 5 can use the portal to get rid of the kids that don't pan out with him and then cherry pick from the top performers from the mid majors that fit what he is looking for - we in turn get the cast offs and guys who couldn't cut it at the top level. Hey come to ISU where you'lll play and audition for getting to the top level and leave us in the dust.

Dan needed to build his brand. He had the golden opportunity after 2017. We were too busy wasting scholarships- while missing on some of the bigger targets talents. I wish Dan could develop talent...but it’s clear that’s his demise. If he were able to recruit 3-4 freshman and develop- then maybe put the cherry on top with a juco transfer that would be great. But, he can’t even build the foundation.

Hmmm...I may see a way to get my wife more interested in Redbird basketball. She loves pointing out what I do wrong and what an idiot I am (fairly), maybe I can get her on the fan board and she would focus that hate on Dan Muller and off me. Win/win!

ISU is CHOOSING to keep their millions, instead of buying out Muller. I’m choosing to keep my millions, rather than pour any down this rat hole.
If you gave them $1.5 M of your millions two months ago, Muller wouldn’t be the coach.

Where is @AllFacts aka Horne’s handlers or parents? I figured he would be taking a victory lap on here.

We can try to justify at what point the program died or what player is to blame all day long if you'd like. The fact of the matter is Dan Muller can't seem to keep/graduate any of his players he recruits as Freshmen or transfers. Small school but big problem. Yea, I get it, the transfer portal crisis is killing everyone now but Dan not being able to really keep anyone is not the "systems " fault. Paris Lee is the only one that stuck around and he wanted to transfer out before his senior year! I know I am stating the obvious but the common denominator to ISU Basketball's dumpster fire is Dan Muller!!!

Hey you never know - maybe Dan pulls a rabbit out of his hat and gets 2-3 solid transfers to complement Fleming, Washigton, etc. While doubtful you gotta think that Loyola and Drake have kept the MVC on the map and perhaps that allows a Big10/Big 12/SEC transfer to take a flyer on us. Regardless this next year gives Brennan chance to start putting the feelers out on who he can have interested when Dan goes through the expected sub 500 record for the third year in a row

This sucks, but hopefully this is the last of the transfers. Maybe it will work out for him, but i would think he’d have a better shot keeping numbers high being the man here as opposed to a small piece of a P5 team. My guess is he’s essentially a spot up shooter on a team with more talented players, but we will see. Best of luck to him.

With all the hate Horne was getting on the MVC awards thread, I’m surprised some of you are upset about this.

No offense but Fleming and Washington had one or two decent games and a myriad of clunkers. If this is our foundation, we’re screwed.
That said, it’s probably our best (and only) hope...

Fleming has to learn to run the point facing the basket. Too many times he penetrated, turned his back then got into trouble. Washington might very well be our best player next year. Really athletic and he doesn’t need to learn how to shoot

Fleming showed promise for a freshman as did Washington. I wish they had upperclassman to learn from, but those 2 do have bright days ahead. They are just nowhere near ready today to lead this team to where we all want.

It’s funny- ISU doesn’t call me to discuss recruiting and other basketball related discussions.
Does ISU call anyone for anything? Several people I know didn’t donate and never heard from ISU. Now they are begging for money.

The best year was post Lofton. Paris Lee saved it and Milik killed it again.
You can blame it on the kids all you want. If Dan recruits the players...he has to balance it out. He can’t lose his problem kids and his high school kids too. He also can’t miss on the kids talents or has to know how to develop. That’s why we are here. He takes risk!
