Garbage. Petty. Appaling. What the... Huh? Whatchyou talkin about Willis. Forrest Gump. Stupid is as stupid does.

I was roommates with one of those admins. I cannot believe Chris Reynolds stood for this. Can't believe it. Promote the BU brand?? Did you really say that?? Are you spittin' me?? Biggest news for their program in a decade and they're picking fights. Nice timing, BU. What professionalism!

Wardle must have thrown one heck of a hissy fit to pull this off in exchange for making the entire university look bad. Truly, truly PfreakinUUUUUUU.

Isn’t it the job of a journalist to report as opposed to promote?!?

Well........... Used to be many years ago on many fronts!!!

Charley Steiner (remember 'THE Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication' over at BU) has commented and PJStar has an article coming regarding that.

Keep in mind the issue here isn't really about "restricted access" or a coach's beef with a reporter. It's the administration objecting because you're not "promoting the brand." They're also bowing to Wardle's hissy fit.

Like I read somewhere else...COLOSSAL BleepUp. But it'll be forgotten in a few days.

I've told this story before. I've watched Wardle in action while he was at UW-GB. He's a jagoff. I've watched a lot of guys coach. This guy was beyond ridiculous. Throwing balls at his guys. Calling them every name in the book. Should have been fired there and then.

I was on a recruiting trip with my daughter. Was waiting for her while she was taking a tour with the Track/CC coach. Their practice gym had a huge glass wall so he was on display for everyone who wanted to watch. It didn't phase him. When my daughter and the coach got back I asked the coach "what's up with this guy?. I got a short answer. "He's a jerk".

Bradley sold it's soul with this jagoff. Only a matter of time. He will explode and it will be ugly. And this trip to the NCAA's will not be worth it.

I just read Disneyland. They are delusional. Defending BU even though they are a joke across the country. It’s amazing. Wonder how many comments have been deleted LOLZ #suckstobu

If you read Tornado on Bradleyfans.com, it’s a conspiracy by the Peoria Journal Star allied with Joann Glasser, Michael Cross, and former Coach Geno.

The pjstar message board is much better except for a few posters that literally can’t read the byline of the article and figure out Reynolds or the sports editor didn’t write the article. Those same people claim the Journal Star waited until the AD was locked away for the selection committee to write a hit piece. Which, isn’t true at all people on the selection committee still have acesss to cell phones and internet.

Anyway, found out some more info. This is the article that set Wardle off. The Journal Star didn’t have the money to send Reynolds to the game (Pantagraph has done this as well recently) so he tried to do something extra and cover it from a bar.

If you can’t handle this article good luck moving up to a Power 5 school.
I think it is no coincidence this (the BU action) came down while Chris Reynolds was gone. He is miles away when others do the dirty work, isolated to not deal with any flak firsthand, AND can spin this however he wants when he finally returns to Peoria (which may not be for another week).

Optics are poor for Reynolds and bad for Wardle.

Nope...he is not happy nor does he want to be out of town when this went down. When the President has to step in and make a public statement and apology concerning your department I guarantee the last place you want to be is out of town. Hard to manage damage control from afar and time only makes this type of stuff worse. He is probably sitting in those ncaa meetings with his arse all puckered up because he is going to get it chewed out big time when he returns.

I do not think that was true then, before this became the curfuffle it is now. I am sure his vision of how this would go is markedly different than how it has actually went. I do think it is true now.

In truth, what Bradley was trying to do is not that far removed from what many professional sports teams do today. They have their own in-house produced articles and interviews with team personnel, and many times they are either "exclusive" or (minimally) get first choice/crack. The team controls the message as much as possible, with the true journalists being relegated to second fiddle (and if they are perceived to have stirred the pot too much, they are barred). Some even have their own "networks" (Dodgers, Yankees, soon to be Cubs). Colleges have not quite gotten there yet individually, but conference networks certainly have enabled the big boys to collectively inch closer to it.

I am just catching up on what happened today. If a college president has to issue a statement to correct a mistake like this, someone has to be fired.

Also, I just read bradleyfans. Drugs can be enjoyable when used properly, but those posters are on the wrong dosage. To think the Journal Star (which is in the business of selling papers) would want to destroy Bradley basketball, which in turn would decrease fan interest in the program, and that with less people interested would sell more newspapers, takes a logic that can't be possible without some sort of mind altering drug.

I was astonished to see some of the (BradleyFans) posters contending that this issue was not getting much coverage. The story was all over social media yesterday. It's still the top sports story on the home page of WaPo.com. I do think the story should have mentioned that Bradley's president rebuked the people responsible for the decision to freeze out Reynolds. This was clearly a case of Wardle and others doing something profoundly stupid, not a university-level decision.

Went do people even bother to go to Disneyland? I haven't been in months because I always felt dumber after having read their nonsense.

Definitely not the newspapers job to promote the brand but having said that, newspapers often lean in one direction to promote their own agenda.

Pjstar forums are much more level head.

It’s beyond absurd to think that Dave Reynolds (of all people) have it in for Bradley. Anyone who thinks such a thing needs to wear aluminum foil on their heads 24/7. :scared-shocked:
