I call BS. Very few posters "make excuses for him". A few (more than a few??) make excuses for why the administration won't or can't can him, but what "the other side" bitches about mostly is every damn thread getting turned into "Fire Muller", and "Thanks Larry", and "Pathetic Recruits", etc. etc.
The bottom line is where this program is. It deserves much better.

That's a deflection. I'd like to see a few quotes from people making excuses for the basketball program. You said it happens. I don't think that's been the case for well over a year. Probably longer. Yes, I was one of the holdouts.

It's 100% what MadBird said. Everything posted on here gets hijacked unless you don't let it by using the ignore feature.
Back in the carefree days of Tom Richardson for example, someone would throw up a picture of a dead horse and that stuff would chill a little.

If you think the "board coming together" to get rid of someone is going to make any difference I'll differ. Yes, they do read it. And then they laugh at this stuff. Sorry to burst any bubbles out there but they do. Money talks-bullshit walks. And as a retired AD, I'm guessing it makes them dig in their heels all the more. Some would call it human nature.

I've told this story before. I was down on the floor at a b-ball game years ago. A buddy who worked in the department and was on the radio pulled me aside and said I should change my moniker before someone figured out who I was. He said if they figured it out I would lose all credibility. And that was when things were going well. He was right. That's why I go by Timmy now. Right or wrong they consider this stuff a joke.

There have been numerous posters claiming this board is the reason we can’t get recruits and why players leave etc.... so which one is it??? Is the board a joke or do the things said here actually impact the program?? I for one agree that the stuff said on here does not affect the actual program at all. Muller can’t coach regardless what ppl say on this board

If one wants the message board to be more positive, then how about developing a culture...and winning some f’ing games!
Crazy thought, but I’m guessing that consistent winning will eliminate most of the negativity.

Timmy must have been an AD back in the 60's. Kids care about winning...not what any of us say. If a kid is that thin-skinned that he cares what rico or hulka says- then he shouldn't be playing D1 sports.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that any program that is reeling as much as ours is, will have similar, if not more harsh and dangerous feedback on their fan sites and social media. I know we can be pretty hard on our athletic dept and coach but I cannot recall anyone threatening anyone as much as we see with some of the larger programs. Take a look at what happened on line with illinoy and ohio st after their quick tourney exits. Neither of those schools seem to have issues signing top talent even with all the ugly negativity that boils to the surface after a few losses.

Retired at 58. 63 now. Kids care about winning. And playing time. And girls. And believe it or not academics. And girls. And food. And coaches, fans, facilities, etc. Oh and girls. And parents read this crap. And when they see a post referring to the program as a dumpster fire........ if they're worth a shit they care about that too.

Still waiting for the list of posts making excuses for the basketball program.

Need to do more than just win games consistently at this point. Need to win NCAA tournament games.
