That was certainly not the response to NAU I was expecting. Kolbe needs some time on the pine to figure it out. I have never seen anyone telegraph passes as much as he does. When he isn’t telegraphing he is throwing it up for grabs.
No life in this team. Spack better get if figured out and get the team inspired or they wont win another game this year.

I don't have faith this team will win another game.

Brutal today--and brutal schedule awaiting us--I have no expectations for the rest of this season either

Hey, it's what ISU men's sports do best....fail to live up the hyper-inflated expectations of its fan base.
Next step...waiting for the Kool Aid vendors to start convincing everyone how our BB team is overly loaded with P5-level talent.

I try to be even keel after big wins as well as after big losses. Let's not over-emphasize the most recent result at the expense of considering the teams' body of work.

So, if we win next week, let's not think this game and NAU was a fluke.

Truth be told, I think we have some major offensive woes, and that the defense has still (despite the last two games) been impressive.

I think the playcalling, the blocking, and the quarterback play have been poor. I also think the wide receivers are not as talented as the other corps in the MVFC. We need to find a way to get more creative on offense and Jake Kolbe needs to start playing SIGNIFICANTLY better football.

I have not seen a WR get open the last 2 games. We are not playing against all-american DB’s and safety’s. Kolbe is not playing well, but he isn’t getting much help either, from the WR’s or the OL.

Bottom line.Kolbe can not compensate for a team that can not run the ball. Good RBs with no holes to hit!

Just finished watching the replay. Somehow managed to stomach watching the entire first half, fast-forwarded through most of the second. That. Was. Brutal.

I actually had a little optimism at the beginning of the game when our O came out and tried some different things. A little jet sweep. Trying to get Henderson to the outside. Working Broadnax into the game. Working in some play action passes. Targeting Petkovich a little more. Unfortunately, none of it actually worked...At this point, I don't think there's one thing on offense that this team can build on.

Defense definitely had me fooled the first 4 games. I thought they were pretty legit, even though I knew we were playing inferior opponents. That performance yesterday was atrocious. I still think there's enough skill there to get things figured out, but I cannot understand how SIU had dudes open all over the place. Not prepared.

Not really sure where this team goes from here....

Ok, ISU has no offense. No OL, poor OC, no QB, marginal special teams, marginal receivers, and an overrated defense. By now everyone should realize the way to beat the Redbirds is to pass, pass, and pass some more. The DL is the only high quality component of this team. Looking at the remainder of the schedule I too would be surprised if they win one more game this season. I really don't know who they could beat. :(

We have a good run defense because of our line. Dalton Keene is on a level by himself, and then there's a big dropoff, imho. The others are serviceable and solid as a group...but the D-line's strength is its depth, not necessarily star power from your starting 4. I'd take the lines from years back ahead of this one.

As for the defensive backfield, I do think we have good corners. Harris is a good corner, but he's not getting much help. I also think he would do better in more of a cover-2 scheme. In fact, I think our entire secondary would. But you need great pass rushing if you're going to be able to run that and we're not getting that.

Harris is completely overrated. That won't stop the Bears from trading up to take him in the 1st round though.

Many great players are overrated, but they're still great.

Good games for Robinson and Henderson. Robinson got some rushing yards on his own.

Robinson also missed a blocking assignment on a man blitzing up the middle who almost took Kolbe's head off on a sack. (At least I assume it was his assignment, as he was in pass-protect and the line left the blitzer unblocked...)
