Are we sure WSU is happy? The AAC is losing teams now and travel is much further than it was before. Especially with COVID, I'm sure teams would rather stay closer to home now. If I were the MVC and looking for a 12th, then my first call would be WSU.
The travel is something that is easy to forget because it is not just men's basketball, but all the other sports from men's cross country to women's soccer. A geographically spread out conference stinks for the students and for the athletic travel budgets. WSU has to travel to East Carolina for more than just men's basketball.

Three teams called Owls.

Conference USA announced the addition of four new members on Friday, adding Liberty, New Mexico State, Jacksonville State and Sam Houston. This is effective 7/1/2023. James Madison also officially committed to Sun Belt. Middle Tennessee and Wesyern Kentucky are expected to go to MAC. If that happen Conference USA will be at 7 so expect at least one more team to be recruited to USA

Jacksonville St moved to Atlantic Sun so wondering if they they will target another Ohio Valley Team.

A lot of movement this past week. I am most likely the only one but I sort of wish ISU was in the MAC from an institutional fit. What does ISU have in common with Valparaiso besides basketball? MAC schools are sort of like mirror images of ISU. If true that WKU winds up in the MAC, that becomes a more interesting bball conference. Oh well, we still have Valparaiso and Evansville.

I'm starting to come around to this way of thinking too. Another factor is stability - the MAC has added teams over the years, but for the most part it has been a pretty solid group of institutions, public schools, midwest, similar enrollment, etc. I don't know.

Yes. FBS football and bring back wrestling. Get away from the powder puff privates we have little in common with.

Oh I didn’t say I am married to the idea. Just something that has crossed my mind of late from an institutional fit.

I just wonder about different agendas.

From a school size, athletic profile and endowment size our only similar institution is Missouri State in the MVC. That’s it.

I'm not sure how we can say we are better than most MVC teams from an athletic profile over the last 10 years. We have had a couple of good seasons in the revenue sports. And we do well in the non-rev sports. I just don't think we are blowing any one out of the water.
