Belmont Game Thread

I am getting very tired of mullers excuses that he cannot coach these players (he picked them) and even more tired of the minute distribution and the constant subs. Play 6 guys for 30 minutes or more and let the others share 20 minutes. Hein cannot be on the floor. He is not even D2. 3 airballs out of his 1st 5 shots. Sure he plays hard but not near enough talent.

Not surprising that we lost but giving up 100 points to a team starting 3 freshman is NOT acceptable. We were schooled on the floor. The final margin was closer than the game I watched.

Disappointed in Baltimore....

You hit the nail on the head. You sure as heck can’t have Gassman, Hein and Tinsley on the floor together. That’s a defensive dream. Not to mention the offensive unit of the other team is licking their chops. Muller said he was going to tighten the ship and have a shorter rotation. Until that happens...the results won’t change against better competition. Yeah, we will whoop Chicago State...but who cares.

If you don't want Hein or Gassman playing then tell the other more talented kids to give the effort that and Hein and Gassman give. If you ppl can't figure that out you don't read or listen to Muller. If you play the kids that don't try or listen to Muller then Muller has lost the team.

Yeah, let’s tell Hein to play the post! If you are going to play some of the players out of position don’t expect miracles! Yarborough had 3 fouls...wasn’t like he was a spectator in the bench! He was playing the big guy in the post at one point! The borage of 3’s continued when he went to the bench! Don’t make it sound like it was one player! It's not one player but when Muller says that we don't listen and so forth, that's telling. A team with 4 seniors shouldn't be going through this, you can't let the players run the program regardless if some are more talented.

A team cannot win consistently when they have a coach that is still lost on how to coach this far in to his tenure, he feels that he needs to make some stupid point with his best player every single game, and has players like Matt Hein playing large minutes every game.

You’ll be the first one to praise him when the team comes together & has a very successful year. We lost a game that was going to be very difficult to win vs a team favored to win their league. The amount of CLOWNS that we have on this board is embarrassing. Lack so much basketball intelligence, it’s sad. Matt Hein has a role on this team & it has nothing to do with his father. Gassman belongs in the rotation the rest of the year. He competes. He was the 2nd best player we had last night behind Phil. Guys like that deserve to play big minutes and he did.

Figure it it, move on, it’s a clown show on here!

I know Yarbrough is good. But I can’t root for him on an individual basis.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that is what is trying to do with MY. The only way to get through to the kid is to take away what he wants most, his ability to play in front of scouts.

I don't care if you don't like me. I don't know many times I have to say. I don't call anyone on his board names, however. All I ask is you to stop loving Dan because he's an alum. Look at this body of work. Only real success was with yak. He's a better version of Paul lusk. A great recruiter but can't motivate or coach. He's lost control of the team plain and simple. Just admit that.

Then let's not call the players names either, okay? Criticize their play, their attitude, etc. But don't criticize them as people.

As to Muller, are you saying he didn't motivate and get the best out of PLee? TWills? Hawkins? MiKyle? Daishon?

Right now, Milik is the one guy who will determine whether this team succeeds or not. If he's wholly committed, others will follow suit. If he's not, well . . . MY is like Zach Lofton in that respect. His attitude infects the rest of the team. If Milik is positive, so is the team. And Muller knows that.

Muller is trying to find the key to gaining MY's commitment, but what motivates MY seems to change frequently. Muller calling Milik out after this game is another attempt to find the motivator that will stick.

If there is a silver lining, in my opinion Belmont is a top 75 team. This would make it a quadrant I loss. Yes it's a missed opportunity but not a "bad loss".

As an fyi I only used the words you used against MY. Hopefully you didn't mean it anymore against him as I did against you. I will always stand up for our players & coaches. May disagree with them or feel they are not giving it their all but I have never nor will I ever call them names. And just so you understand I wasn't trying to "effect" you in anyway nor do I honestly give a rats ass about your opinion.
