Geebus, can we clean up the inbounds and bringing up the floor? Now I'm nervous and have no business being this nervous.

A little shaky at the end, but for the most part, we did a great job of handling pressure. Couple alley-oops. Made a bunch of threes, most of which were wide open looks.

Really fun game to watch.

WOW! 58 point second half!! Still way too many turnovers, but that was a fun game to watch. We played well for the last 25 minutes or so.
Our aggressive play was the highest I have seen in YEARS. 37-21 on the boards!! Our overall length really bothered Belmont.
GO BIRDS!

We are now living by the 3….. hoping not to see the other side.
And this is the type of shooting team I thought we would have earlier. To see this coming around is a great sign.

it’s kinda good we’re still finding things to get better on. That’s where growth come in at

And for those looking at the important stats . . . 1.261 points per possession.

Which isn't sustainable, but was certainly attainable.
It most likely won’t be but so Ly will be above average by the end of the season

Schmitt was terrible defensively. Constantly out of position and non-existent on the help side. He would come out to hedge screen and then our two defenders would get split or they'd have a wide open pass. I would have much rather seen Kotov or Andrews. With that said, great win today!

Well . . . Kotov, Andrews, and Sissoko know what they need to do to see the floor . . .

Good W, much needed. McCheese was excellent. Need to limit our turnovers and for the love of all that's holy can we stop having so many shot clock violations? We need to get our feet out of the concrete and start moving on offense.

I don’t think Schmitt played well, but Pedon said in the post game that they opted to take away the three as opposed to stopping the back cut. So Schmitt was doing what he was supposed to, just had too slow of feet to get back.

The team isn’t going to shoot this well every game but man this was a fun one. I really liked seeing Liam playing more in the post. I would say they played about 27 solid minutes of ball.

Crazy to say that the team is a possession away from being 2-0 in league play. Hopefully they keep going up and don’t have a let down against EMU or SIUE

I counted six times the shot clock got down to 1 or 2 seconds hurried us negatively, two were out and out violations. Gotta shore that up. Second half we played really good though.

There’s no way they can shoot it this well every time out but I can see them shooting 40/43% consistently as a team. That could very well be good enough for a much higher conference finish that expected

I still don't have high expectations for this year, as we're just missing key parts. But the progression of both the players and coaches is encouraging. And we appear to be a strong second-half team. I'm enjoying watching this team mature. Feels like a culture is forming.

I think we’re like 1-3 in close games and that was kind of expected by the team being pretty new. I have a feeling we will win this one and it could be an important turning point after a close loss last time out. Hopefully we reach 75 to win 75-69.

We had shot clock violations coming out of timeouts WE called.

Overall a really good game. I think we had 9 points, about 12 minutes in and score 75 the rest of the way. I was encouraged during the early drought though because we must have had 10 deflected passes on D, even though 2-3 of those deflected to one of their guys for an easy bucket. We set the tone with our effort (even caught a few rays of swagger 😉). Very active

Obviously shuffling the lineup around was a wise move. Poindexter and Lewis have been doing good things since.

McC was a.monster today

Petrakis ankle. Sandage flu. Our unacceptable shot clock violations were part of out strategy to not allow Belmont to set the pace of the game.

It was an epiphany for #13 to figure out it was permissible for a 6’-10” guy to score in the paint. When we played two bigs at the same time Belmont had no answer.

This was a quality win for a deserving coaching staff and a good bunch of young men. We will win some more yet this season.
