12 assists, and Valley road win! Still, need more and and cut down on the 19 turnovers big time. Still, great comeback win.

Rusty and rested won out over tired and momentum on this one. I think the Birds freshness won them that game. It really showed in the second half.

Congrats Birds!!!! Great energy, defensive pressure and a much more offense going into halftime and continuing through the second half! Good adjustments by the staff. Geeeez Luke - missing four FT’s in a row almost gave me a heart attack. He did not look confident at all at the line. We really need all of our best FT shooters on the floor at the end of these games. It will cost us a game we should have won. Get Mal out there!!! Great win on the road Birds (very tough to do in the Valley). Great start. Go Birds!!!

Much more aggressive penetration by Banks taking it to the rim, drawing fouls, getting to the line. Once we hit the double bonus it was evident that if we hit our free throws we would win the game. Ironically we we 9 of 10 before Luke missed four in a row and Banks missed two.

25 for 43 from the field for 58%, we won the rebounding battle, and at the FT line. UIC was 7 for 15 at the line.
That made up for the TO's. I loved our shot selection in the 2nd half. Burford and Banks took it to the hole continually and Lieb gave us 2 huge hoops.

Definitely things to build on. We have to clean up the turnovers. UIC seemed to hit the wall after playing so much + the travel. Road win should lead to some confidence. We play hard and we care. That can make up for the talent issues on nights like this. Great building block. Shorten the rotation and we’re working with something.
