We finished the game 19 for 34 so we made our last 8 (2) pt point shots ... I think they were all layups when I looked backWe are 11 for 26 from 2pt. We are not a very good 2 pt shooting team
They don't look for Sandage enough eitherI agree he’s passing up way too many shots. He’s turning it over too much today also. He just go too long between shot attempts to be more of a help on the offensive end. The other thing I see is he rarely ever gets it when he’s wide open. I’ve said before this team doesn’t have good basketball eyes.
They sure don’t.They don't look for Sandage enough either
Refs missed him getting elbowed in the face - then missed it again on replay review. Ideally he doesn’t respond but I guaranteed that hurt and all he did was push the guy away and looked like he was saying “what the hell???”Evansville is 320th in the country in three-point percentage.
What a selfish, ridiculous push by Lewis in the scrum. I hope his scholarship is available. Some leader.
It's great that they're trying to do the right thing and play team ball, just hope they get better at it. Always nice when you can count on the free throw shooting, always frustrating when you can count on turnovers.I’ve said before this team doesn’t have good basketball eyes.
I missed the end of the game. I threw a brick at my tv and busted it when that pass happened. How about stop passing the ball to a player in traffic with 3-4 defenders around him........ Why??? Drives me nuts. Same with not grabbing the ball on defense - trying to dribble right away instead of securing the ball first.
I’d typically agree with you and was yelling the same thing at the TV, but in retrospect, I’m wondering what would be different if there was 2, 3 or even 4 teammates in the front court- because they don’t go to the boards after a shot. Until they figure out that they need players crashing the boards, they are totally dependent on the 3 and ft’s.And it was still a bad shot. And bad shots are turnovers that aren’t listed as turnovers. Forgive me, but you seem to be suggesting it’s okay for Mal to be selfish, but not the others? Really?
Don’t get me wrong, I like Mal. He’s a gamer. He’s calm. He plays good “team” ball. He’s ice at the line. But time and situation need to be considered when taking that shot. That was not the time or situation to take that shot. Fortunately, it didn’t cost us.
CloseAre we still in contention for first pick?
Doing great my friend! Other than agonizing over the birds from time to time. Golf game good!!!I missed the end of the game. I threw a brick at my tv and busted it when that pass happened.
Speaking of a brick, I wonder how Brick is doing?
Even with the new Thursday format, this team can win a game before playing one of the better Valley teams. Assuming Redbirds only finish ahead of UE in a worst-case scenario, who as a 6-seed would you say is unbeatable in STL? Get the right officials and we can win a game at the line, if nothing else.Squeaking out a win against a hideous team is about the best we can expect this year. I still think they will put together a total game sometime this season and surprise someone. But we’ll be Thursday night and out this season. At this point I am looking at who Pedon keeps and who he can recruit. That will be the tell. Goal-NCAA appearance in 4 years.
I’ll take this outcome over last year at UE: losing both the game and Sy Chatman, which killed what had become a high-octane offense. Finally a much better first half, and we were able to stave off their runs and close it out in the final 5 mins. Had we had another dogshit first half and spent most of the second clawing back, we may not have snagged this one. But no matter. Wins are wins, and road wins are even better.
