If you're gonna git...Now's the time. About 6-8 weeks before finals at most semester schools. Transfer now and hope to still be able to knock out some of the Core 16.

Posted in his recruiting thread but figured I would post here too. Bivens, our other Nation recruit, is leaving the program. Headed to Liberty Heights in North Carolina. If we get this kid to commit, as others have suggested, expect a RS year.

Also, here's some more information on Woody.
"He several times referred to us as sperm banks. Yep, when we were 15,” Emily Rousseau who played under Woodbury on the Maine Elite team said. "If he wanted us to go into a game he would pull our ponytail and drag us to the scorer’s table. We had an African-American girl on our team and he said if she didn’t start playing better there would be a hate crime."

It's starting to make A LOT of sense that Woody was so enamored with Greggggggggg Mar$hall during Abdou's recruitment.

I don't know why but I'm in love with this recruit. Hope he comes here. First and foremost I'm glad he doesn't have to suffer abuse any longer.

That's a bullsheep statement, Adunk.

Regardless, I'd still take Dan in a hallway fight. If such a thing should ever occur.

I'm just gonna put it out there. Hearing that audio...how did we get Abdou?? Did we pay?? Just because he liked ISU...is that all?? Are the eligibility issues legit or a screwaround from Woodbury or somewhere in between??

If you're not paying attention to our friends from the FBI and their inquiry into college hoops...folks, if you don't know that it's pay for play (primarily at the major D1 level), you're just nai´ve. There are street rules to this recruiting game and I wonder if we dipped into them a bit more than usual to land this kid. Maybe we did, maybe we didn't.

I don't think we want to know the answers.

No we did not pay for Abdou.... think about the budget of ISU vs the budget of the schools we got him from: UNLV, Wichita State, Georgetown, and Ole Miss. If money was involved do you really think we would have won think that battle?

Abdou was ruled as an academic RS, meaning there were transcript issues, which we all anticipated. He went to 3 prep schools and one closed. Whatever school gets Petion should also expect the same thing.

In saying that, I'm a big Dan fan and always have been and always will be. My honest eval of him as a coach is he's an average offensive coach(which does frustrate me) - a very good defensive coach - and a stellar quality man that you'd love to have in your family.

Overall I'm happy with him at ISU from an overall perspective because I believe he represents ISU very well.

But sometimes you gotta play the street game in the game...even if as a head coach you are insulated from some of that for your own protection. It's just the way it is...sometimes.

Not saying we did. Not saying we didn't. But if you say it's not possible, you're fooling yourself. JMO. I imagine these posts will get booted.

Money wouldn't come out of our "athletic budget."

Not saying we did, not saying we didn't.

Right, it wouldn't come out of our school athletic budget. Schools with higher athletic budgets tend to have higher donor numbers... see what I'm saying?

I do see what you're saying and I'm not confused about it at all. Logically I get it and on the surface "heavens no" we didn't "pay" in some way. Logically.

The sleaze factor of this guy, though...makes me question everything. Not saying we did. Not saying we didn't. Ready to see some action on the court.

Cause the kid that Woodbury was "communicating" with is essentially this description (as I read a quote earlier today)...Woodbury "plantationed a migrant minor in his care."

Whew.

I don't believe we paid for Abdou in anyway. I don't think Dan would let it happen, and I really don't think we have any donors that would spend that kind of money on recruits.

I think we got Abdou for one of the reasons he said early on in that Dan was the most trustworthy. I think Abdou probably saw in Dan the opposite of Woodbury. Just my two cents in the matter.

I'll just believe that version for now.
