+1 this as well. I am always excited for when the Birds play regardless of how the season has gone bc it's my alma mater and the team I've enjoyed since I was kid. Me too. I'm feeling pretty negative about the season in general but still get excited to cheer on every game. With low expectations I don't get too crushed about the loss though any more.

An example is UNI where they have developmental years but get continuity in their roster. Those years become short-term memory once you start reaping the benefits of roster continuity and player development. It's just the ebbs and flows that come along with being a college basketball fan.
