How long can u hold out for a P5 offer without losing a home game?
If the home game we'd be losing is a D-II, not overly concerned. Probably bringing in one of the GLVC institutions (so an UIS, Lewis, McKendree, or Quincy as examples). Many folks griped about them when HCDM scheduled a D-II, doubtful that has changed over time. Worse case is pushing that back a season.

Let’s get this train back on the tracks.

Who is everyone’s favorite blue blood?
For the last few years, I have favored Kansas. Watch as many games as I can. Get familiar with all the players. I think for the most part this affection comes from KU's connection to James Naismith, inventor of the game, and his player/student and following KU coach Phog Allen. Duke a pretty close second, big fan of Coach K.

In the past, I have been a fan of Michigan (mostly due to Cazzie Russell going there, one of the first college hoops players I followed, and Rudy Tomjanovich, who I really liked as a player), and Indiana (I admit to enjoying the Knight style of play, and also Quinn Buckner was such an Illinois HS stud), and for some reason always liked Missouri, back in the "game of the week" days of college basketball and Coach Norm Stewart.

They will and all will be surprised

The only way I would be surprised is if we get a home and home series with any upper tier P5 team with the first game at Redbird Arena. If that happens, I'll be very pleasantly surprised. I reflect back on Dan scheduling us at Kentucky, Louisville, Wisconsin, etc. If it was a road game only, the only way I'd be surprised is if we're at a blue blood like Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, or selfishly so I could go to the game, UCLA.

It's a buy game but I would think most will be happy with the opponent

I’d be absolutely stunned if there are fans who aren’t fired up about this one. Guess time will tell.

I will be fired up if it is against U of I! If not them, any Big 10 member would be fun!
Concerning blue bloods, I had the honor of meeting Coach Dean Smith at a coaching clinic he was putting on in the Chicago suburbs back in the early 1980’s. He was kind enough to chat with me about my team and wanted to know what aspect of our game needed some advice. I became a North Carolina fan that day and have been ever since!!

Any team I coach would always run a Carolina secondary break. Heckuva coach and a heckuva human being.

I feel like this will either be a legit announcement for an attractive P5 buy game, or intense sarcasm in setting up a thrilling matchup vs. a DII :p
