Thanks to the coaches and players for an exciting finish to the season.!
Equally important, it was a nice diversion from the woes of our basketball program.

Absolutely ZERO reason to mention another program in this thread.

Go away. Just go away.

While tons of credit goes to Holm, his staff and this team - I think the former coach Bo D deserves a congrats too. Many of his recruits performed well over the weekend too. Wishing him the best

Also if the university wanted to raise some funds, why not sell these away jersey's they are sweet. The pull overs they had on yesterday were also nice. I'd buy one of each.

The home uniforms are among the nicest I've seen. Classy and simple.

Not a big baseball fan but jumped on the bandwagon to root for our Redbirds. Great season and I hope they can build on it.

Question on uni...shouldn’t “State” be more prominent? I love the print but I’d like to see “State” a little easier.

So from using a uniform designer to create my kids travel uni's, they probably had to keep the state to the one side of the buttons probably, otherwise it would look real weird in the center, because you'd have STA on one side, and then TE on the other. If you made it bigger on the right panel, then it would likely mess with that whole tail that comes across in which state appears. If you look at the red pull overs (I think those are older, I don't remember seeing them this weekend), it's more centered and you can make it a little larger but it also has to do with the letters you are using and how big that tail can start. To make that State bigger, than the Illinois would have to be bigger too, so that the tail could be bigger. But the White pull overs they had on Sunday with Redbirds in script are excellent. Would love to have one of those, but I'm sure they don't make double extra fat and one time wearing it, I'd drop bbq sauce all over it.

Same and totally agreed. Very proud of the players and coaches. The run was so fun to watch.

I wasn't able to watch the final game live but recorded it .... that performance was representative of the grit they played with this season. They had one bad stretch in the season otherwise they pretty well. It will be interesting to see who gets drafted and leaves. They should have a good team if the juniors stay another year.

Great season, enjoyed watching several games online. Nice to see this team have some success, finally.

Congratulations to Coach Holm and staff, a job well done. I always wonder when a change is made whether the old coach could have done the same had he (or she) been allowed to stay - you know, the team was on the upswing, anyone could succeed with the talent, etc. (after all 5 guys were drafted). Sort of the way I felt when Donewald was run off and Bender had a good season right out of the gate. But I didn't really feel that way say with women's hoops, seems like Coach G took those ladies to unexpected success. So, at this point I'll assume the Holm hire was a good one and whatever his magic was, it worked, Hopefully the new recruits fill in for the seniors and draftees and next year is a good one!

A couple of items:
* What an outstanding season by the Birds, Coach Holm, and the entire coaching staff - Fantastic!!!!
* With Louisville destroying ECU - makes you realize just HOW close the Birds were to going to the College World Series.
* I was at the Baseball Alumni Day when the 1969 Championship team was honored - guess what the #1 question I received on that day? What is wrong with the ISU Basketball Team? They care. I can easily tell you - I get that question in my travels for work. So Santa - you are not correct.

Valley Baseball did itself proud in the NCAA Championships. Illinois St., Dallas Baptist and Indiana St. finished 6-6 in the tournament which doesn't sound all that impressive until you look at who they had to compete against. Vanderbilt won it all and finished #1, Louisville was #3 and Texas Tech #4 in the final poll. Those 3 teams accounted for all 6 Valley defeats so the Valley didn't lose to anybody ranked less #4 in the country. The six wins included 2-0 against the Big 10 (Indiana, Ohio St.) and we remember that the Redbirds did chalk up a win against #3 Louisville.

.500 ball against the very best in the country - I'll take it.

And Louisville was one crazy pitcher firing up the other team away from beating Vandy and making the championship game.
