I didn't get a chance to go to the game but I was in the car at halftime and heard on the radio that Payton had some foul trouble and 10 points while Okoro had 18 at the half.

Muller also in attendance.

Intercity Tournament final: Bloomington 53, Normal West 50. Payton 21 points, 9 rebounds for BHS, Okoro 22 points, 14 rebounds for West.

Muller was there. Okoro got shut down in the second half.

Sounds like a great game. Both players did well and Dan was there. Win. Win. Win.

Love seeing what Dan is doing here. Hopefully it pays off and we can land this kid. Paring him and Payton up would be fantastic in 2019.

Normal West plays Bloomington tomorrow (Friday) night at the Shirk Center at 7:30 - and then plays Normal East on Saturday at 6:00. I do not know how much of a supporting cast Okoro has at West - three players from last year's West Varsity left - Yaklich moved, one went to U-High, and another went to Central Catholic - all of those kids were on the Parkside Jr High team that won the state tournament as 8th graders.

Griffin Yaklich did not play on the Normal West varsity last year. He did play some on the sophomore team as a freshman. One went to Central Catholic--Luke Yoder. He did play some varsity last year as a sophomore and would have helped the West team this year. The other sophomore who played on varsity last year went to Bloomington H.S.--not U-High. Donzell Johnson---would have really helped Normal West this year. So yes, West is a bit thin on the supporting cast around Okoro.

Went to the double header last night at Shirk. Payton had a real nice game. Okoro looks to be a Dinma like project in the making. Very raw, but lots of potential.

I watched Frank tonight.... honestly, not incredibly impressive. He spent a lot of time on the perimeter against a much smaller Champaign Centennial team. He had a lot of rebounds but there wasn't much of a challenge for them. Should have spent a lot of time in the post.

Well, Adunk - that would take for Normal West to have a real Basketball Coach instead of the clown that is there. Why do you think so many basketball players who start for either U-High or BCC - live in the West school district but, choose to play elsewhere?? I have had kids on my street and people I know - tell me Cupples is the reason they had their kids go elsewhere.

Okoro finished with 21 points and 17 rebounds, making 10 of 13 shots from the field. I left at halftime, but this Stat line should have been much bigger.

He was sitting behind our bench for the Tulsa game. So I guess that counts as a visit. I'm glad we played well.
Payton vs Okorro this Friday at Bloomington high. Should be an awesome night.

That game was at BHS - packed house. BHS focused their defense on Okoro - the other players for West made enough shots and plays to pull out the win.

He is suppose to cut his list down to 5 schools very soon.

Do you think we are in position to be one of those 5? Would you give it a percentage chance?
