More often than not this team came out and got down big, seemed like they weren’t ready to play. They came back in a handful, but none of them resulted in wins. So what’s that worth?

Seems they played alright when there was nothing to lose, but once it got closer they tightened back up. They need some alphas in a big big way next year. Guys who can score. Pedon’s ‘pass‘ is officially over.

Onto next year.

Quite the comeback happening here (only down 6 now). Regardless of the end result, I'm glad to see the effort.
Too many turnovers, bad shoots and lack of defense other than this run. There was a reason we played Bradley close and beat SIU. +\- reveals that points aren’t everything

UNI team the youngest team Ben J has ever coached. Gives some perspective on how far we have to go.

UNI went cold and ILST had 5 straight possessions with turnovers. That's not winning games. You could just tell when there were 6 straight possessions down 6 that Born was going to rise up and he did.

The fight in the second half was good. I like what they have with the core of Burford and Lewis coming back. Lewis had 4 turnovers at crucial times where he dribbled off his foot or passed it directly to UNI. Malachi and Luke coming off the bench next year to provide a spark would be ideal. I'm anticipating filling 4 scholarships this spring. 5 max.

Just be better next year.

Turnovers and depth. The two biggest things that need fixed heading into next season.

It's unfortunate we wasted what was probably the best free throwing shooting team we have ever had here percentage wise by not taking care of the ball, and by not being able to get guys the appropriate amount of rest needed in game to compete at an ultra high level for the time they are in the game.

Kyle Brennan’s hires wrap up a 26-52 year. Yikes.
Actually softball has a lot of season left. Disappointing we won less games than last year. 18-13, 11-9 next year I would be excited. But still think that requires 3 new starters. We have returnees who Will be important parts of next year, but need some influx of new talent.

Well; on a positive note-our humiliation is over for this year. I’d much rather crash out like this than lose to PU. That said; we all knew this season was going to be rough. That it turned out to be really rough is no consolation. But honestly, who didn’t expect this? Let’s be real; it’s going to take at least 4 seasons to get where we want to be; if it can be done at all. Lyons and Mueller were allowed to absolutely decimate this program. None of us, thinking clearly, can possibly expect Coach Pedon to restore respect in one season. For myself; I’m pulling for the Illini and whoever is playing the river rats of PU. We’ve got a long ways to go friends! And it’s not going to happen overnight. Hope is really all we’ve got.

Softball is 3-11 so Brennan's hires are actually 29-63, which is worse than my first post. Good catch.

Alright, well, despite a few positives, the season went about as expected...maybe even slightly less so. When we played bad, we were REALLY bad. It often took a terrible half or getting down a bunch to fire up and start playing ball. That can't happen again. The pass has expired. Now get to work and make things better.

I wouldn't really lump softball into this pool. Kramos has been here for a very long time as the HC in waiting. Not defending the AD or anything, but this one has been in the cards for a long time.

See above, but by all means don't let it deter you from your obvious dislike and agenda against the AD.
