Jans just tried to pork as many women as he possibly could. That was his true passion outside of basketball. I know a guy that was his teammate in college. Said Jans used to pork a cheerleader in the laundry room of their arena before every game. Sometimes a different cheerleader at halftime. The guy knows how to seduce women. I would imagine those habits are hard to break.

Agree Kaplan is annoying and ruins my morning news twice a week @5 before going to school, but he did raise a good point about point guards.

Jamar (not the a$$hole that steals his name) and P.Lee were extremely significant.

Not saying I would endorse this hire, but for the sake of conversation:

Ali Farokhmanesh

...it would be another Valley player that coaches across lines. Recruiting, he'd have to REALLY up it on the Chicago/StL/Indynside with assistants.

I think the AD will get the right man after all his job depends on it. I bet the next coach is not on the list that we have. I will support who ever the AD hires Go you redbirds

He probably wants Richardson on the bench too. Lol
Richardson was the perfect assistant for that group at ISU. Stallings could be as tough on his players that he wanted because Richardson knew how to play the good cop role. Richardson had plenty of basketball knowledge and respect from his players in that role. I know bringing back that duo would not work, but I appreciate what they did together in the day.

When do we think the new coach is announced? Will Brennan wait until after March Madness, assuming he poaches from a Tourney bound team? Is he able to ask for permission to interview assistants from teams still playing?

After thinking about it I've moved off of Gregg Marshall. Chris Jans is the best program builder. Plus, more people can forgive what Jans did compared to GGG.

I would be talking to HS coaches in Chicago and St.Louis. Asking their relationship with some of the assistants.

Go get Dean Oliver. As a Wisconsin fan I would not want him to leave but as an ISU fan here is why I think he’s a good option

1- point guard is the most important position on the court and Dean was an excellent PG at Iowa
2- he was an asst. at ISU when Muller had his best years. Look at the career Paris Lee had
3- Dean came after a very difficult time surrounding the program. He’s also dealt with some difficult stuff at UW in the Howard Moore accident so he’ll be able to put the pieces back together.
4- he can recruit and he knows his Xs and Os, IMHO, better than Muller.
5- he will run a clean program, guys will go to class, graduate, work, hard, etc.

to me this would be the first guy I reach out to if I’m the AD.

Dean is an awesome coach- and even better guy! I wouldn’t be disappointed if he was chosen! I probably wouldn’t just because I want to stay clear of anyone that was on the Muller staff!

I don't want anyone associated with the coaching style of muller except Yak but it's clear he was the best coach from that 2016 team. But, he'd be dumb to come here over UIC.

He isn’t exactly burning it up at UIC! The jury is still out on him. Just because you were an assistant for a good coach, doesn’t make you a good coach! I think Dana was the architect on the Muller 2017 season!
