at this point I fully expect for Brennan to announce Cali, Crazzy, Jammin and Rico as the new coaching staff; anything less and his goose is cooked before he even gets started ...

... then he will proceed to go into full :Rowdy" Roddy Piper mode

BOARD: We agree a change needs to be made if money can be found, but our angsty teenage meltdown years are long ago.
RICO: Look over there, a squirrel!!!!

just for the sake of going off on a tangent for this discussion, what if Judson had been hired instead of Muller? Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember that he was a front runner for the job. For the long time followers of Redbird basketball, what would a Judson administration have looked like?

im not sure. coaching styles were different. my gut feeling is a couple decent years with the leftovers and then downhill because he cant recruit.

I’m guessing Dana was the architect. It seems to have all went south when he left.

Not sure Judson would have had long term success. Depends on recruiting. He was the lead recruiter on Nic Moore. Even skipped one of our games to go recruiting to see him play.

Would have been a much different style of basketball. Defense minded and fundamentally sound.

I always said, If I were Muller I would have got down on my knees and beg Moore to stay. I know many said Moore was gone regardless...but everything changes if Moore would have been here Muller's first year.

Here’s the thing, a lot of people here say something along the lines of: “yeah this is bad, I think change should be made but we don’t have the money so too bad”... however deep down they still have a muller obsession and I’m willing to bet if he wins a game or two in Arch Madness we will see comments from posters suggesting next year we will finish top 3 mvc and the year after NCAA time. These posters really don’t want Dan fired, they’re just too embarrassed to state it with how bad things have gotten for fear of ridicule
call me now miss cleo GIF

Thank you Miss Cleo

Also hurt that Mullers ego got in the way that season. That team almost won at Louisville, but as the season went on Dan had to be a dictator and make sure the team knew who was in charge. Suspended Tyler Brown and got off to an 0-6 mvc start. Believe they recovered and finished 6th, and lost in semis to Wichita. Felt bad for Jackie and T brown. Their senior years were wasted.

12-13 Season Brown started the first 4 games of the losing streak, didn't start the 5th game and came off the bench in the 6th. Back in the starting lineup they then won 7 of the next 8. They lost in the MVC to the Wichita team who lost in the Final 4 to Louisville. It's more like benching Brown may have saved the season. I don't know how you came off of ignore but back on you go.

That's where you are too...ignore. As soon as you're serious about winning...I will take you off.

You bitch too much. Same old tripe different day SOT DD. However, you’re spot on with this. Muller ruined what could have been a very good season.

On WJBC they just said Muller has three more years on his contract and if we fire him he gets 1.5 million as a buyout. If he stays thru the next two seasons and then we fire him does he still get 1.5 million, or does it get reduced 500K each year forward? If it's 1.5 no matter what then they either fire him this year or suffer through 3 long years. This program could really be dead in the water for a long time. I can't see how he can possible recruit under that cloud. The nightmare scenario is he has another outlier great year three years from now. Then what do you do?

Maybe they could generate some excitement with dollar beer nights and half off on popcorns...just thinking outside the box here.

I read today where the state of Illinois is now $300 billion in the hole in regards to public pensions. My question...does dan qualify to receive a state paid pension when he retires? Please tell me no.

SIU has looked good against Bradley, despite an early injury to Lance Jones. Nice coaching job by Mullins with lots of layups in the second half.

The buyout on his contract is his full contract. If he is fired this year its 1.5, next year it is 1 million. It was a sweet heart deal from Lyons that has hamstrung ISU.
