Well, in the two games we have lost this year - the offense struggled a lot in the first half. In the games we have won - for the most part the offense moved the ball and the defense got stronger as the game progressed. Thus, the Birds need to be aggressive on offense - if we are not aggressive - not good.

HOW GOOD OR BAD IS THIS ISU REDBIRD FOOTBALL TEAM? i feel like this is the first game where we will learn something about status of redbirds competitiveness. all prior games this season were basically against significantly inferior opponents where we were suppose to win big or against the best fcs team where we were far inferior and suppose to lose. this season to date we have underperformed overall, imo, so looking forward to seeing isu step up in a big way today and get a win vs a competitive team. must confess i am not too opportunistic but i do have my fingers crossed and i am looking for the Redbirds to show me who they truly are in a big way.

We actually started well against SDSU offensively. It was our defense that couldn't keep up, plus the KR fumble on their 3rd drive, which combined with our 3 & out on first drive, put us behind 20-0. You wouldn't know it seeing our offensive drive chart below though. And our 2nd fumble killed a great chance of cutting their lead to just 6. Annexstad got the 1st down easily, but took an awkward hit and fumbled. on their 37. So we would haave been 1st and 10 on their 41 with about 6 mins left in Q3, down 34-21 .. chance to cut lead to 6 or 10.

We came out throwing underneath and did about as well or better as anyone has against their defense. This includes Mont St, UND, and UNI. Mont St did only slight better offensively, but playe them much closer. UND did about same as us stats and score. UNI crapped the bed.

4th and 2 at SDS45No Huddle-Shotgun Annexstad,Zack rush middle for 8 yards gain to the SDSU37 fumbled by Annexstad,Zack at SDSU41 forced by Williamson,Saiveon recovered by SDSU Freeman,Jason at SDSU37, End Of Play.

It doesn't seem like Eddie Kasper is playing. He did post on Instagram last night doing some hotel room drills though lol

Officiating has favored us if anyone so that has been nice. What a first half for Sobkowicz. If he keeps going at the pace he's been on, he's going to be 1st or 2nd team all-MVFC.
