The three top coaches could be possible candidates and leave too. Belmont and UNI would be favorites if that happens, but teams like Evansville and Birds need to build their roster and take a run next year if this comes to fruition.

@ChiRedbirdfan Judson > Yak?? No way! If we can welcome Judson back, we can welcome Yak back. He's connected to Chicago and could run the defense.
from some conversations in the past I heard yak is disliked by several key cps coaches. Goes back to his days of Illinois wolves vs MeanStreets/Mac Irvin player competition. Besides his track record at uic is a factor. Just my perspective of Yak. I have no opinion on Judson.

That's fair. Good insider info. Much appreciated.
I hear your perspective too. In the right environment with the right needs maybe Yak would be an asset? From a general perspective I would vote no but if he is being hired to run defense vs recruiting/ game management that makes sense.

I’m sure Pedon loves his guys, but damn would it be nice to see T-Wills back teaching sticky defensive fundamentals. He could probably still lock down just about anyone on this roster.

Strange as it may seem, the 'birds were first in conference and second overall (amongst conference teams) in points against, as opposed to twelfth both conference/overall in points for.
