I saw Finley's Proviso East team blast Howard's Chicago Vocational team at a Christmas tournament in '90 or '91. Donnie Boyce and Sherell Ford were on Finley's team.

That PE team was insane!

If Howard doesn't press, Gard doesn't call a time-out. No altercation would have happened. 5 games for Howard seems right to me.
If Gard didn't block Howard, Howard would have kept walking. No altercation would have happened. 1 game suspension for Gard would have seemed right for me, instead of just a fine.
IMO, Howard started the fire. Gard was pouring a little gasoline into the fire.

If Howard could not keep his mouth shut..he should had avoided the handshake line. Don't press the scrubs and let the time expire. Gard was coaching the guys that work their ass off in practice...don't they deserve that?

Don’t forget he is an alum! If a 10 year contract is acceptable for Muller than Howard is deserving of 20. His fab five team was a great group.

Unbiased breakdown of the whole situation. I don't think Juwan should be able to coach again this season and be assigned some "mandatory anger management" training. It's rare when you can point to a situation and say one party was 100% at fault but....I mean, this has to be about 98% on Juwan. If he doesn't press (even though he said he didn't though he called it "pressure defense"....aka press), a time out never gets called. TO doesn't get called, no animosity and the game ends. Wisconsin's coach could've let his back ups suffer a turnover with the game completely in-hand at that point, but he didn't- so there is the 2% I attribute to him.

Howard saying he got into a position where he needed to "protect himself," is such BS, I don't even know what else to say about it. LOL. He's 6'9 250. Gard is what? 6'0 230? Don't know how Michigan can let this dude keep going but man, wild story.

Michigan went to the Elite 8 last year under Howard, and this year they are in the S16.

Michigan is known as a football school. But they made the S16 the last 5 seasons.
