Why would anyone want Greg? It would just be winning and winning and more winning. So ISU would be a national powerhouse year after year. Who wants that?

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with you. Gregg won every year at Winthrop. At Wichita, it took his 3rd season to have a winning record, 5th year to make the NCAA tournament and 7th year to win the MVC tourney. He really developed into one of the better game coaches in the entire sport, but he also had twice the talent as anyone in the Valley. Even though I think there is no chance he comes here, the question is with his reputation would he be able to recruit anywhere close to the level he did at Wichita. I don't think he would.

No inside info, but I get the feeling we have our guy and just can’t say anything until 3/15 due to that stupid clause in Muller’s contract.
Gave em their best game of the year. Playoffs and regular season included.

What was the clause? Sorry if it was already mentioned. The verbiage in these contracts can get quite ridiculous.
Muller had to be given 30 days notice to be terminated. That's why the announcement came last week. 30 days is 3/15, which is also the first day of the First Four games.

Thanks for the clarification. Does that clause though prohibit ISU from announcing an new head coach though? I mean Muller’s already been notified and even removed from the team’s website.

Someone broke it down further than ISU cannot employ 2 head coaches during that 30 day window. So I predict an official announcement 3/15.
I think the announcement will depend on if the person we plan on hiring is in the Tournament or not.

Idk if the tournament depends on any of that. Jank was announced as head coach on Tuesday, March 20th, 2007. Had the press conference on that day and coached at Kansas in the NCAA tournament on March 22nd and March 24th. I think Kyle has his guy it's just waiting and that's why the decision was made when it was to part with Dan. They have to wait 30 days until they can make that announcement. As I heard Benson say on ESPN in Peoria. ISU can announce the hiring around March 14th, have the press conference and the coach goes back to help out his current school where he is coaching at.

If Brennan has his person locked up, I assume that “person” is looking at ISU tape to see if anyone on the current team merits keeping, as well as laying groundwork for recruiting.

My personal health and "close to the vest" information thats been given to me for 14 months has kept me very quiet on this topic as well as the transferring of Reeves. I think many of you will be shocked at the hiring and the direction that ISU is going for head coach. I am personally very excited. Although I'm happy for the future, I exchanged texts with Dan sending my thoughts and prayers to him last week. I wish him and his family the best. I, like many of you never would've thought the program would be in the position it's in today (especially after a season such as 16-17). With respects to Antonio, it will take a miracle for him to stick around!!
