He’s going to make significantly more as a B10 OC than he would have made more. Even conservatively, it would be double what we would offer.

will be interesting to see how this pans out - makes me wonder what the connection was. Would sure be a nice bump for same job .. but it is just Northwestern. They're not exactly a destination for an FBS up and comer OC, other than being Big 10 .. so theyre looking at an FCS up and comer OC.
good info !!I think the connection was: NW's new coach was the DC for Bison. Lujan is the OC for the Rabbits. They literally game-planned for each other for several years. I am sure Braun hated going against him and it sounds like he respected the job he has done.
I also don't agree with the whole "it's just Northwestern". While it's harder to get student-athletes admitted to NW, they've been a very solid program for quite a while. In the last 15 years, they have been to 10 bowl games (didn't include this year). In the last 5 years (not including this year) they have won the Big Ten West twice. While they aren't Michigan, Ohio State or even Penn State, they have been a solid program IMO.
Their current head coach was a up and comer DC for FCS North Dakota State. He's 38 years old.
LOL why settle for an FCS head coaching gig when you can get a significant pay raise and be an OC in the B1G. Great job by TBS getting his name out there.
Part of the Northwestern move to younger coaches could also be a reaction to the recent scandals in their sports dept under "older school" coaches. Those scandal and culture issues didn't just involve football program. There is no way Fitz knew nothing, even if he didn't encourage it.I think the connection was: NW's new coach was the DC for Bison. Lujan is the OC for the Rabbits. broken clock apply here ??LOL why settle for an FCS head coaching gig when you can get a significant pay raise and be an OC in the B1G. Great job by TBS getting his name out there.
Well, he wasn't promoted to HC, took a lateral as OC . . . . .Straight to the B1G. Bright future. Easy to see for anyone paying attention.
But, Brock is the better pick, right? Not that he'd choose us over Northwestern. Just saying there are some blind homer's here.
Or is gronowski good because of Lujans system?Moving parts..........much of his success is because of Gronowski.
Gronowski could be on the move too. He has 2 years of eligibility left and is from Naperville. So NW might be very attractive to him.
He was really, really good before Lujan’s system. You could make an argument about Lujan’s work on his development as QB coach though.Or is gronowski good because of Lujans system?
Hard to say. But when Eck was the OC, Gronowksi's first season included all of the following:Or is gronowski good because of Lujans system?
It is not Lujan's system ... it is Lujan's play calling. SDSU has been very good for a while. System belongs to the below 2 guys ... stop with the false narrative trolling.Or is gronowski good because of Lujans system?

SDSU lost the '21 Championship by 2 points when Gronowski got injured very early in the game. You can say SDSU hasn't won without Lujan, but it also hasn't won without Gronowski. They didn't win a championship until Lujan was OC. That's not a false narrative. Now they're on the verge of going back to back.

Lujan is also leaving before several veteran lineman depart. He knows the OC job as SDSU will get tougher next season.
yes, but with over 90% of the team he 100% inherited backThey didn't win a championship until Lujan was OC. That's not a false narrative. Now they're on the verge of going back to back.
