1-18 from 3 today.

Another game in which our 335th (out of 351 teams) 3 pt shooting percentage got worse.

We are closing in on the worst 3 pt shooting team in all of D1 basketball
Statistically speaking ... its hard to keep getting worse but they prove me wrong each game

Here are the last 9 games

Valpo 1 - 18 5.6%
Belmont 5 - 23 21.7%
SIU 3 - 18 16.7%
Drake 9 - 21 42.9%
Kentucky 8 - 35 22.9%
SEMO 8 - 23 34.8%
NDSU 2 - 9 22.2%
Norfolk St 5 - 27 18.5%
N Kentucky 8 - 27 29.6%

49 -201 or 23.4%

Hard to believe that could be done over 9 games

Although the contract didn’t work out well for Illinois State, Muller’s extension came after he went 17–1 in Conference.
But NO NCCA appearance. You can complain that ISU should have gotten in but we didn’t. Seven years is a long time for a no NCCA bid.

Per Kenpom we are now 355 of 362 on 3 pt%. It's going to hard to catch Houston Christian

I have been watching Redbird basketball for 60+ years. This is the worst half ever. Listless, no energy and the worst shooting ever.
Normal Community would score more than 20 points in a half against Valpo.
Is there room in the Big Twelve conference (high school) for us?

7 years?? I think you’re missing a “2” in front of that “7”…

Broadcast is much worse than last few years. Attendance is rock bottom. Bottom four team in the MVC. Racial controversy. Interim AD who has never worked in athletics. Half the staff left the last few years. Missing six million dollars. Am I missing anything?
Here is what you are missing… the fact that both our football team and men’s basketball team have been dismal for seven years yet we win the “highly coveted” MVC all sports trophy (now +3 years) shows ISU athletics is clueless about priorities and resources. Pedon is right about changing the culture but the bigger issue is the overall athletic strategy needs to be fixed first.

As for Pedon I am starting to believe he may be genuinely too nice of a guy to be successful.

If you think about it, everything has gone downhill since the incident with Norfolk St. This is beyond pathetic. I do not know why anyone would financially support this program. All administration has done is require more money for donations, tickets, concessions, parking… you name it. And that’s the product we get in return. No way I’m donating until I see total improvement including an NCAA appearance. NIL money? Forget it.

By the way, have I missed the final report as to what really happened with Norfolk St? Why has there not been a full report released? Yet another example as to how messed up ISU athletics really is.
That one I wouldn't pin on them. If the truth was "the player made it up, the coach embellished things that weren't corroborated, the coach was uncooperative with the investigation" -- you know very well how that will go publicly.

They might've just figured they were best off letting it be a dead body under the bridge now that everyone's forgotten about it.

The offense needs to be coached around the one strength that we have, which is rebounding. So run the offense through Foster, Lewis and Chase on the low post. This would create a lot of easy high percentage shots and generate more fouls. When the post guys are double team, then kick out for midrange shooters only. This team needs to abandon the 3 point shot all together!
ISU needs to learn how to push the ball up court faster with the pass and create 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 advantages. Also, we need to improve on our free throw shooting (69%).
