For some reason I noticed this year that the students don't stand for the Redbird lineup announcement. Not one student stood last night nor in some previous games as well. In my section most of us stood and have every game this year. This means that they need a leader to lead them to the promise land of teaching them how to be Redbird fans during game time. I mean, it seems that it has come down to this. Red Alert needs to step up. There has been great leadership in the past from Red Alert for leading the students and getting them to cheer but not sure what they are doing this year. I have seen some very enthusiastic students at games this year and it may have been Red Alert leadership but it is not consistent.

It was nice seeing President Terri G K standing and waving a cheerleader's poster and encouraging people to stand.

I actually was hoping they would update the pre-game video and cut a newer one. It was great when they first started using it but they have played it for a few years now and I just think they need a new one to keep things fresh.

I assume the team picks the pre-game music and I am not a young college-aged student but I would prefer more of the pep band rather than the constant rap music. I also like when the band had the loft stage they used to play in. It stood out more and was right next to the sole student section. Now they are cornered up in the lower bowl and next to one of the student sections but it doesn't seem it has the same impact.

Yes, attendance has really scaled back the food offerings -- but people love their ice cream dots. There is always a line for that. Attendance will bring back the food.

Game note comments -- Reeves got bodied pretty hard on that last shot. The last time prior to OT he launched a three and we all wanted him to drive. This time he drove and got hacked and of course no whistle. I wish they would run plays including multiple screens (2-3) for Reeves to get him an open look. He creates most of his shots by getting separation but why not conserve his energy some and do it for him. He is a very good shooter and this would help.

I actually was impressed with Coach Jones. He always presented a good demeanor towards the team and didn't sulk or fold his arms in disgust if they screwed up. That is a very encouraging optic especially with what these players have gone through. Good job from Coach Jones.

Maybe it’s because no one had any expectations for Jones being able to design a play to get a wide open shot. You have to admit, you have been pretty vocal about the crappy offensive coordinator we hired 3 years ago.

But Jones ran two plays down the stretch that got wide open looks. The first to McChesney out of a timeout and the Strong miss.

It sure beats the Reeves going one on four and either forcing something up or passing to a teammate who isn’t prepared to shoot last few seconds play.
Why would you have no expectations for Jones? That's weird, cuz the guy was a head coach before. Did you assume he never had to design plays to get open shots before? I can't understand that.Almost everybody has been vocal about Jones' offense. I remember some commenting about it as soon as he was added to the staff, cuz his teams weren't terribly strong offensively. Dan ran plays that got open shots, too. And like this one, a lot of them missed. And guys on here criticized him for it when they missed. And applauded the player when it worked, which was not nearly as often as we might have hoped.

Strong was 2-12 for the game at that point, and most of his misses weren't even close. Why would we think Strong was suddenly going to find the shot he hasn't had all game? Additionally, he's a better shooter from distance than inside the arc for the season. If I'm UNI, I'm want Strong to the one shooting. If he makes it, tip your cap to him. If he misses, that's just what I'm expecting and I'm crashing the boards.

Lewis, Fleming, and Reeves all shot pretty well. One of them should have taken the shot.

I believe he took Lewis out for the Strong play which I could not understand. He had 14 rebounds and shot the ball decently. Abdou was in the game and offensively is not a threat.

Doubt that UNI defense left Strong open to shoot the ball. They were overloading to stop Reeves. Law of averages said he hits that shot. But this year we have lost a lot of games coming down to the last possession. Law of averages have not been good to us.

Sieve Fisher is a former ISU player. Do we want to go there again? Fisher might not be enough, but Fisher plus the owner of a Detroit auto dealership could be formidable.

Fisher is too old.
We need someone with connections to Chicago, understands NIL, etc.

The thing is, that is a shot that any college guard should be able to hit 70-80% of the time whether they’re on or off. Strong is supposed to be our best shooter, but is very streaky. I think it was one of the best end of game shots we've gotten this year and disappointing it didn’t fall.

Maybe he drew it up to help build his confidence for the rest of the season and into next year?
