I remember the days when this was one of the highest attended/hyped games each season. Used to be a strong, heated rivalry. Things are surely different now. But oh well. Gonna be another tough one, but figure out a way to get it done.

Thankful for the win. When we started losing our lead....I started to walk away from the TV screen....and I never screamed at the TV.

I hate to even ask...but were any Redbird players benched for any unbecoming behavior this game?

Missed all but the last 12 minutes of the game. What were the technical(s) about?

i would assume Phil said something after he sent Pippen's shot into the student section.
later on, Pippen gave Phil an elbow during a dead ball.

There is no other explanation given the circumstances

What a pathetic display of basketball by both teams. Some of the dumbest players to grace Redbird Arena. Those are Junior High mistakes - just awful. Throwing bounce passes at the feet, dribbling into traffic, taking terrible shots, and so on.

We were up 45-29 - and Keyshawn decides to throw a wild ass, alley-oop to Tinsley that was not close. Then next possession takes a wild 3 off the dribble - SIU goes to score 18 in a row. Dumb plays and Dumb decisions change momentum and throw away leads.

Last play of the game was a fitting end to a terrible game by both teams - fitting. SIU wanted to lose worse than we did.

Perfect summary.

I'll add that we missed 17 straight shots at one point. Not sure I've ever seen a home team do that. Ya know, since we practice there and stuff.

I found it odd...that the cbs sportscasters, live from RA and also during the back to the studio moments, were all about the Salukis. I hardly heard any "story" regarding ISU's play. Even after the game's end...it was all about the Saluki mistakes leading up to their loss.

Same sportscasters from RA definitely noted that a expletive was issued from Fayne at that moment. They even apologized to the viewers of that issue.

This team is going to shatter our heart in st louis....I can see it already

Only if you go in thinking we're going to win . . .

There is not 1 team this year that is superior in the conference. I could see a 5 or 6 seed making it to mvc title game

Could this be the year a Thursday nite team pulls off the highly improbable? Would be perfectly in line with how this conference is playing out.

It would be ironic that after almost making it to the NCAA tournament but losing in the MVC championship game...that this is the year, with an up and down team that doesn't play smart basketball a lot of the time, that we win Arch Madness thanks in large part to how weak the conference is. But hey....I would take that #14 seed in a heartbeat!

What's scary is that I'm pretty sure Keyshawn's one of our brighter players...
I don't understand why he puts up shots way behind the arc when there's plenty of time to make a pass. He does know he's in a shooting slump, right? Why shoot from out there when you don't have to?

Muller has told Key to continue to be aggressive. So long as Key continues to play better than solid D, he has the green light. Muller needs Key to get on track, but he also knows that having him not shoot isn't going to get him out of is slump. Muller's walking a fine line, no doubt, but getting Key on track is critical to any success we might hope regain.

i think it was kobe who said something like, "i would go 0-30 before i would go 0-9."
meaning he wouldnt just stop shooting after his 9th miss. earlier in the season, i remember Key passing up a few looks and thats when i knew he was in trouble. feels like he's getting back up on the horse now.

So I can assume that it wasn't, "Sorry, good man, but I've seemed to have accidentally swatted your shot 40 feet out-of-bounds".

That's exactly what he said, but it sounded like "F*** THAT!"

I think Key is the “key” as to how the rest of the season goes. If he finds his stroke then we are as good as anyone in the Valley. If he doesn’t then we are at best a middle of the pack team. Though only 2/8 last night his three that put us ahead at the end was a really confident shot. I hope it carries over. It’s pretty obvious that Taylor isn’t coming back and we desperately need Key’s ability to stretch defenses. Fingers crossed!

Did anyone notice how Duhon had his arm around Key on the bench trying his best to
get the kids head up at about the 5 mark remaining of the 2nd half? Key didn't appear to buying in - like he's heard the same thing said
to him all season.

I think the key to the victory was one of the gray hairs standing up from his seat near the end of the game, who says we don't make a difference.
