I am not sure he will be ready until his junior year. I hope I’m wrong!
Pedon seems to think he'll be ready to contribute next year....

.......you'll see a big guy that a team might play through that they (other teams) have no answer for and we've got one of those coming next year. So, I'm looking forward to seeing guys try to defend him without fouling

The toughest skill to learn is how to sell fouls - especially now that we keep getting T’ed up for flopping. If someone can teach the art of triggering whistles to go our way as well as Judson taught FTs this year, we might be in business.

I’d settle for not touching a three-point shooter post-release so we never see another five-point play. Also if you flop, pop back up immediately because they don’t call the T until after your opponent scores.

They really need to get rid of the flopping rule. It is way to subjective and there is so much gray area. Have any of these refs stood in against a Ben Krikke or Cam Krutwig type to know how their body would/should react to getting backed down in the post?

Plus, the "flopper" and his team is already penalized as he takes himself out of the game while he's on the ground. Honestly, just call a block or a charge and move on.

Could you imagine how may flop calls Ron Baker would've got this year?

I like to think I watch a lot of college hoops...I have seen exactly zero flops called during a P5 game this year...They also called it a lot at the start of the year at our level, then it went away and then came back in the tournament? Alright....

I thought we were really good at triggering whistles . , . oh . . . do you mean on offense?

I did see it called a couple times, but nothing like the MVC. I saw a lot of players asking for a flop call though.

No problem with their opinions, but are these guys high school coaches, college coaches? Have they seen the three new recruits, which according to many not affiliated with ISU, is a strong class? It's easy to look at the current roster and make these observations. But your friends, nor anyone here, has a clue what the final rosters for all 12 teams will look like next year at this point.

It's obviously been a while, too damn long, since this team has made the dance, and nobody here is debating that.
I would be careful anointing any freshman a starter until the place the first couple of freshman games. Just because you dominate

I hope he is right...because that would be huge. He won't be playing guys 4 inches smaller and 150 pounds lighter. He will be playing grown men.

Maybe... but I swear I see a lot more defensive bigs hold their ground while being back down this year fearing a flop called.

Other teams have talented freshman starters. ISU can, too.

MuEller ≠ Muller

KinziNger ≠ Kinziger
You know one of my pet peeves? When people misspell names here. I think to myself, if you're going to make a point, at least spell the player's name correctly...don't you agree, self??

Here I am...forever misspelling JohnnyK's (not you RedbirdSoxFan) name wrong. Every single time. I didn't even realize. Like, no clue. I read your post earlier today and I didn't understand the point you were making...until now. I'm gonna go hang with CrazzyMark at Fiala Bros tonight and let him talk some sense into me.

Sincerely,
HamDonger🤐🤐🤐🤐👎👎🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

PS. Mark - the offer is out there. I'll buy you a beverage or two sometime if you meet me in Uptown - and we'll figure out this Redbird business.

I’m not one to complain, but I didn’t drive 2 1/2 hours to see the Sugar Bears perform in art smocks and Bermuda shorts. I know, I know, they are building up to a crescendo, so I will be patient. That being said, I did discuss this with them in our suite and they said just wait for the grand finale…so stay tuned. Also, for the Bradley fans stopping by our suite, those aren’t chips on the table…they are nachos.

Softball is 3-11 so Brennan's hires are actually 29-63, which is worse than my first post. Good catch.
Softball is now 15-15. This years’ non-con schedule is not as tough as years’ past. The USF tournament did not feature us playing Michigan, Florida, and USF together. The 3rd and 4th tournaments weren’t as strong; however, a generally young team built momentum. 9-1 in their last 10 games. Hopefully they’ll push a 6-game winning streak to 8. These are the games you have to win if you want to compete for a Valley championship and a higher seed in the tournament.

Make that 17-15, and 7-1 in conference now. Riding an 8 game winning streak after sweeping UIC this past weekend. Next up, Bradley.
