Watched from home on the television. I don't think I've ever seen a crew of referees choose to swallow the whistle more than this crew did today, especially in the first half. Both teams probably should have been in the double bonus with about 4 minutes to play that half, and some of the "missed" calls...on both teams...were clearly fouls. Probably didn't make a difference in the outcome of the game, but interesting they decided to "let them play" to the point of making me wonder if they were simply going to let teams start making their own calls at some point in time like you would in a pickup game outside Manchester Hall.
Didn’t swallow them as much as in the 1st half of last nite’s game. Only 3 fouls called. Total.

I now live in NW Arkansas just up the road from Fayetteville. Consequently I see a lot of Arkansas games and todays game is exactly how SEC games are called. Normal MVC games look ticky tacky compared to the SEC. I can’t speak to the b1g as I never had a team I followed when I lived in Illinois so I didn’t watch many games. Thank goodness I had the Razorbacks this year as they helped alleviate the distress I had watching our beloved Redbirds.

Frankly all the MVC whistles drive me nuts.

And it's not like the MVC have refs that on one uses. It's so weird when leagues are called so different.

Only 60, but started watching the Birds in 1968 when we moved to Normal and dad got season tickets. As you may have seen me mention, my first memories of Horton Fieldhouse were the "Awwwwww GEE-TEE" chants for George Terry. He was fun to watch.

Then Collins showed up and I found out what fun to watch really meant. Add TPGuy and all I can say is wow while remembering the fans yell "Awwwww TEE-PEE".

In the postgame, Benson asked Fleming, McChesney, and Reeves about their mindset for the next couple of weeks and what their futures might be. The players handled the question pretty well (they all gave pretty much the same answer - want to stick together with the group of guys but will see what happens). I am sure a lot of the players don't/didn't really know what is going to happen with their futures. Brian Jones followed up the players' responses pretty well by joking that he needed a job (probably to make an awkward situation less awkward). Benson was then not satisfied with Reeves answer and later asked him to address it more directly which Reeves responded to by mainly saying he's not worried about that right now.

Personally wish those questions weren't asked, thought it was pretty poor timing.

Hats off to Benson for actually asking tough questions after giving Dan a free pass for 10 years.

Seriously. He didn’t have the gall to ask Muller why he didn’t foul with a 3 second shot clock difference in terre haute, but is okay asking these questions after the final game of the season? If the Pantagraph had resources, I imagine benson would be replaced quite easily. He’s a nice guy, but terrible at his job. Sounds a lot like the previous head coach here…
