BIG TIME WIN against Mo State. Congrats to our seniors on ending their careers at Redbird Arena on a high note. Milik was a man on a mission; se need him to have 25+ Saturday in Carbondale too....don't let off the gas. A couple of things:

- What in the world has happened to Evans the last year? Again, several turnovers when bringing the ball up the court; I'm surprised all teams don't do the 3/4 ct press because it really rattles him. His shot is broken. I almost liked Hein bringing it up more against the 3/4 ct press because he at least has some urgency. I don't think Evans is going to figure it out between now and Saturday/for Arch Madness....but I sure as hell hope he does. He was such a key piece last year, and is more of a liability than anything for most of the conference season.

- I LOVE seeing Milik play down low. He opens up so much offensively, and can hang with most in the conference down low. SIU will be a whole different test as they have some big dudes down low.

- Fayne with 18 and 7 in what I consider one of his bad games. It has been so fun to watch him grow as a player and leader....I will really miss watching him play. Hope he can go out on a high note.

- Tinsley or Copeland HAVE To find their shot (at least one or the other) for us to win at Southern. Copeland 1/5, Tinsley 2/5 from the field yesterday. Frustrating that not at least ONE of them can find their shot. Tinsley did hit a few shots against Drake....we need more of that Saturday to stay out of Thursday.

- Loved seeing the embrace at midcourt between Evans, Fayne and Yarbrough after yesterday's win. That is what it's all about....let's finish the job Saturday and get the #6 seed.

On a side note- it is sad to see after both recent wins (Drake, Mo St) only 4-5 pages of content from posters on here while the 5 game skid led to at least 10 pages of content on the boards. Lots of trolls on here.....hate to see that.

GO YOU REDBIRDS!!!!

Milik was on a mission last night. Almost willed them to a win. The defense in the 1st half was pretty darn good. Rey had his best half of basketball and can't wait to see him become a man the next 3 years. If we get anything from Copeland, Tinsley and Evans we almost can't be beat.

When Milik is in his zone, he will not allow the team to lose. He is unstoppable in that situation. Keep up the intensity.

I hoping Jefferson plays Saturday and hits some shots. He could really make a huge difference with all of our guards shooting so poorly. I'm thinking Copeland and Evans won't be snapping out of it anytime soon. At least Copeland plays good Def and handles the ball pretty good.

Wish Rey could of got into double digits. I want him turning into the paint and shooting more. With a little more confidence and minutes he could be averaging 8 - 10 points per game.

I was at the game and it's tough to say something that hasn't already been said. I will echo those. Rey was an absolute beast. He will be the heart of this team very soon and as senior, this will be his team. I hate that they switch on every screen and Rey ends up out of the post. He his as physical as a player since...Brandon Sampay?? Love the kid and can't wait to watch him develop. I'll also echo what was said about Milik and Phil not wanting to lose. Phil missed some bunnies that could have enabled us to win by double figures, but a win is a win.

Watching back the highlights from last night, watch Milik immediately when the final horn sounds. No smile. No apparent satisfaction. Just focus. I noticed during the game too that he didn't do much of his typical celebrating after a bucket or "whaaat," face to the refs after getting called for a foul. Perhaps Milik is turning a corner as far as maturity goes and is developing that "mamba mentality" or "killer instinct." Lets hope.

Saturday will not be easy, SIU will have emotion on their sideline. Final game for Bartley, Lloyd, Fletcher, Pippen, and Bol. It's also most likely Barry's final game in Carbondale.

Nice win, Milik was huge. As others have said when he locks in like that, he carries the team. That's what happens when talent meets effort. The problem there, like the rest of the team/season, is you just don't know when it's going to show up. When these guys lock in and play hard for 40 mins = pretty damn good. When they don't, it's ugly.

Say what you want about the buzzer beaters and yes, that's horseshit luck, but that's easier to deal with than getting obliterated by Valpo & Bradley at home...or having to claw back to beat powerhouses like Chicago St & Cleveland St. If DM doesn't want to coach or encourage effort into these guys (and 30 games in it's way too late anyway) then he better recruit some. Winning season? Yes. But overall it's been a bitter disappointment - and it hasn't been because we aren't good enough.

I’m here, win or lose. Hypocrisy to criticize supposed trolls while trolling Evans, Copeland, Tinsley, and even Fayne to a degree in the same post. You seem to still find plenty to bitch about even after a win.

If Rey has yet to become a man, he’ll be frightening in years to come.

I think Cope and Key will snap out of it. And, at least they are hitting FTs. If we have a lead to protect in St. Louis, that will be the Key to Cope with comeback attempts.

Message boards usually offer alternative opinions. Might not be the best place for someone looking for an echo chamber. Diversity of opinion is the only reason to have this forum. What’s the point of everyone thinking alike? When that happens, it’s a cue to find another group that actually stimulates thought.

ISUFAN1 don't fall into the trap. pmobrie92 and PK88 are friends with bbfan (and assume connected to someone in the athletic department). Right after their first posts bb fan chimed in how great the post was.

I like how every thread becomes a dialog on other posters or how message boards work. It makes reading about the Redbirds even more enjoyable.

Heaven forbid any dissenting opinions here, especially when backed with the cold, hard facts.

Last night was a great win and it shows what this team can do if they pound the ball inside instead of taking contested 3s with ample time on the shot clock. That being said, we need to win on the road in the last game of the season to stay out of Thursday night. This is not a good situation for a team that many thought could win the conference. And yes, I was one of those people.

We had some tough breaks and questionable calls but at the end of the day it falls on the coaching staff and the team.

Now let's get the win at SIU and get a three game sweep in the Lou. No excuses, no getting help from other schools, no bad calls, no bull sh*t. Time to take care of business.

GO YOU REDBIRDS!!!

I always enjoy any time a new poster calls out someone else for being a troll.

Back to the game. I hope Mo State gets some players because if they continue to play that awful style of basketball it will be tough to watch. They get a break this year, but if that continues that will be bad for Mo State and the MVC. That was two poor offensive teams battling it out last night.

It will be interesting to see how long before Dana becomes the league villain with his sideline antics.
I love that someone finally has passion and personality in this dying conference. It reminded me of the good old days when coaches weren’t over paid and fighting for their lives to win.
