No shot. Foster provides way too much. He’s a dog down low and desperately needed the way he fights. We might just have to live with the FTs.
When I say sit, I mean like under a minute and we’re getting fouled. Other than that, he’ll play. You can play offense/defense, but if he’s in the game, especially in a 1-1 FT situations, they will intentionally foul him.

A quick look at the media guide leads me to the 2008-09 SMU Tip Off Classic - wins over Alabama State, Houston Baptist and SMU in Dallals. So that's the last one that wasn't a Jank Invite. 98-99 Hawaii Pacific Shoot-out, wins over UM-Kansas City and Iona. 84-85 AMERICAN SAVINGS CLASSIC (STOCKTON, CALIF.) wins over Texas A&M and San Diego and FLEET CIassic (PROVIDENCE, R.I. wins over Northeastern and Providence.

Well, a long time for sure.

WJBC replayed Pedon post game comments after the game this morning and some of his comments stood out. He wanted the game to be a physical, midwest, MVC type of game and it was. Michigan, DePaul, San Diego State and other athletic teams went up and down the court with LBS, because those teams are just as athletic and knew that they could score when they wanted to. LBS also forced like 18 turnovers vs San Diego State and 16 vs Michigan so they were gonna force turnovers. Our guys did a great job of not letting the other stuff affect them, playing smart and playing physical defense without using their hands. Seems they've learned a few things from the St. Louis game.
Going back to last year LBS is now 1-5 when they shoot more then 20, 3s in a game.

I finally got a chance to watch the game and what stood out the most was guard play and defense.

Banks handled the bulk of the pressure and displayed such skill and calmness to the position that we haven’t seen in a few years. Long Beach is long and athletic and gets after it and the Redbirds did not cave for the most part albeit 18 turnovers. Last year it may have been 25+. This team has multiple players that can handle the ball which is so beneficial for handling the pressure. I have been impressed with how Banks runs the offense and point. Burford has been struggling with TOs and they all come when he gets double-teamed or drives in traffic. He will find his rhythm again and hopefully limit the turnovers moving forward.

There finally is some muscle down low and KL and MF are a load for any opponent. Add Lieb to the mix and you have length and muscle. Good to see especially in the Valley that likes to bang.

Although we turn the ball over too much I still see improvements in the first 4 games for ball handling and defense.

Long Beach State has had a few power 5 wins this year. They just beat USC in OT. Great to see Bronny James getting back on the court after his cardiac arrest a few months ago.
