We were on a nice run heading into an officials timeout. Then the Jumbotron panned to Adunk and suddenly Drake comes alive. Some correlation/causation there?
If this happened, I sincerely apologize. When another team sees a shooter of my magnitude in the building, they get inspired. The Birds must've not been looking up at the time...

There are literally posts crying about us not spending enough and acting like basketball is our sport. Now the crying is we overspent.
It is where the spending is allocated. If a coach can make more money as an assistant in the big whatever more power to them. ISU May need to look other directions for coaching positions. What would $100,000 less salary and $100,000 more NIL get you? I don’t know but my guess is other posters will have an opinion.

Eureka!!! This is a message board and not all people have the same perspective!
Paying a coach $500k for 5 years is the cost of business. Don’t like then stop watching. Did we get the right guy? Who knows. Were we spending this no matter who was? Yes.

You can’t do a 3 year deal. That signals to recruits the head coach might not be here for his career. 5 years is standard.
With the portal and NIL what they are today are the really good ones going to stay here for four years?

Maybe we become a football only school and somehow annex the WIU hoops team?

Why are other coaches in the valley only making $360,000? Not criticism just an honest question

Also to add to this, what we are currently spending isn't really a big deal, it all matters what the buy out is. If he is making 500k a year but the buy is well below that, then not a big deal. If the deal is 500k a year and the buy out is the same, we need to find someone else to negotiate for us.

Success to me is measured in wins and losses not how much money we spend.
Yes, but it translates. If you are underpaying and underfunding the program you’ll typically be below average. If you spend more and wisely you’ll be towards the top.

From the results of the last few years in men’s basketball it looks to me multiple programs spending less have had much greater success. Just my opinion but not sure that theory is working out. In business I would call it having the lowest cost of production per result desired.

As I said you have to do it wisely. Why do you think P5s are typically better? More $$$$. Does it guarantee success? No. Does it make it a hell of a lot easier? Without question.
