Against Murray, I quit watching at 43-28 and at 57-50 and came back at 43-33 and 57-53 to watch each time. We all have our plan. Sometimes they work.
I tuned in on radio and we went from -4 to -15. Got settled at home making kids dinner, etc. and finally turned it on the Plus to find we were only -4 again. Stayed with it through the satisfying finish.

Perhaps Murray’s gift for punting away large late leads overpowers my Redbird jinx…

It's going to be a very good crowd (considering the last decade of dwindling attendance). Unfortunately at least 1000 of them will be from Peetown. I'm hoping for festive, loud, and competitive all game long. Craving it.

See you peeps tomorrow👊👊

Certainly the biggest opportunity of his career to make some noise for Pedon (outside of KY), but realistically there is a wide margin talent gap here. Bradley (I HATE to say it) is very, very solid and they have good ball movement and can hit shots all over the place. Indiana State and Drake may be better, but this game is so big, because Bradley is our rival and a win here really is a stepping stone to actually bringing back the War on 74 rivalry. I absolutely loved going to those games, both at home and in Peoria. Nothing like when both teams were good.

Go Birds!

When Doyel got pushback he responded...
Replied Doyel: "Zero history. Just what I saw last night. There doesn’t have to be a conspiracy. Sometimes things are exactly what they seem. ... Nothing cryptic about my criticism. I hate bullies. He’s a bully. There’s a difference between hard coaching and humiliation. He goes for the latter. Hell with him."
I've told this story before. I took my daughter on a recruiting visit to UWGB when Bri was there. She took a tour with their XC coach and I waited in the lobby area. Their gym has a big open glass wall and basketball practice was in full swing. I'm no prude and I've been in athletics for 40 years but I've never seen anything close to this guy before or since. I wish I could have counted the f-bombs, but the worst part was how demeaning he was to those kids. And it was on full display to anyone who walked by. I was at Donewald practices back in the day and he made Bob look like a choir boy. When my kid and the XC coach returned from the tour I asked him what's up with that guy? His reply was "Yeah, he's an asshole." I can't believe anyone would go to PU and play for him much less choose to stay there.

BU has made a few tournaments recently. It’s like WSU fans with Marshall. Start dipping and fans over in Peoria will turn quickly.

Oh Goodness - perception. Most highly successful people get called Assholes. They are demanding and get the most out of people. The overwhelming majority of people are much more capable of achieving more than they realize - but do not ever get there, unless someone is challenging them. To the bystander or a subordinate - it may seem harsh, thus the term Asshole. Thank God for General George S. Patton - who everyone thought was an Asshole and the German's feared more than any other. Coach Bobby Knight also comes to mind. I look at actions and results - I really do not care much about "feelings" and soft crap. Get the Job done.

There's a continuum between high expectations and abuse. If I'm hearing Timmy correctly, he believes Wardle's coaching style is clearly into the domain of abuse.

I made my 5th graders do pushups next to the bench when they weren’t in the game. My kids didn’t like me, but they could sure rattle the rim on those rocket bricks they launched. My kids couldn’t shoot, but I sure taught them how to be athletes.

Tired of it.

Spread it!

Wardle has had players flat out quit and walk away almost every single year. A transfer they thought would be an impact player quit this year. Hes an asshole that is only tolerated because he’s been successful.

That said I don’t like the matchup on paper. Hope the Birds prove me wrong.

I have a decent feeling about the game today. Our defense will be the key for sure keeping their guards at bay. I think Foster and Walker can do some big time damage in the post with their size difference. Feed the post and draw fouls. If we can shoot 30%+ from three then I really like our chances.

My father fought for Patton. Third Army, 35th Division, it was one of the six divisions Patton turned north to Bastogne. Patton always made sure they had hot chow and bed rolls and other stuff made it up to the line every night. Is was a top notch run Army. When 35th got transferred after theBulge to the Ninth Army the troops were not as well taken care of. My father also thought Bobby Knight was an Asshole. He would never consider Patton an asshole. He believed Patton truly cared for the common soldier.
