The game was rough but it's time to look ahead.

1. Johnny, Chase, Pence, Lieb are locks to come back.

2. Mal and Myles I want to come back I fear they will test the waters.

3. Luke, Burford, Banks are three that will have a tough conversation with coach. I have Burford here because he is undersized and doesn't fit the offense.

4. The rest will have a conversation with coach but I don't think it will be a tough conversation just a hey I think you would be a better fit elsewhere.

We need a four that can play down low but be a threat from distance. Too many teams slacked off Lewis and that caused the lane to get clogged up.

We need a long 6'5" to 6'7" wing like McIntosh was. That would help with the defense a ton. This player needs to be able to slash and hit the three.

I think Pence will put the work in. Not every freshman comes in and lights it up. It was a big jump for him for what he played against in high school. I have confidence he will develop.

JK is going to be a stud and a menace to valley teams the rest of his career.

Chase is still changing his body. The kid already has a different body from when the red shirt was pulled. He will be a force because he can use both hands down low.

Norris coming in should be able to contribute immediately. Coaches son with two older brothers that play DI. He understands what it takes.

I don't know much about Daugherty except that he is 6'8" and can stroke it from deep.

The JC class should have a bunch of talent in it. The extra covid years forced some players to go that route.

I think Pedon adds 4-5 more players through JC and the portal. Now two years of seeing the valley in person I think he knows what he needs to put a top team out there. I think we will like what the team looks like come September.
How nice would it be to have Lieb put in the work like every returning player should during the off season? Picture this. The dog JK at 1, the confident Mal at 2, Daugherty Mr. Length at 3, Myles at 4 and Lieb at 5. Length have no substitute. I think Daugherty can be a huge piece defensively on the wing as well as offensively. This team is small, insert Daugherty and things can change quickly. Maybe Pedon has found another gym in this kid. He definitely can shoot it.

It’s way too late for Lieb to change his game and become an offensive threat. I don’t see that happening.

Id like to see Myles at the 4 with Chase or Lieb at the 5. Lieb offensive game is offensive but he gives us some length. If we could get a consistent 3 who could step up and make 3s and point guard who could consistently knock down a 3 with Mal and JK then that changes the offense. A stretch 4 who can give length and knock down a 3 would also be nice.
I hope we are still offering/interested in Braylon Roman from NCHS bc his athletic ability with JK to grow together would be nice.

I agree. Lieb doesn’t like to bang inside either on offense or defense. He’s a poor jump shooter who lurks on the perimeter. And he’s not really much of a shot blocker on the defensive end.

Plus it seems like he has stamina issues and is probably a guy that can only give you 10-15 minutes a game max. If I were the coaching staff, I would be seeing what you can find for bigs in the portal or juco route before penciling in Lieb as a rotation guy.

Saw Pedon at Normal’s semifinal state game so would assume he was there to watch Braylon
