"I was disgusted by how we ended the first half" - Pedon

Or close to that. I got interrupted while writing this but he used the word disgusted. Probably the strongest I've heard him speak out about the team. He was asked about individuals and wouldn't throw any one under the bus.

I feel like we had this issue under muller too, where he just could not get the players to buy in. I know it's early to start saying Pedon isn't getting buy in....but minor red flag in my mind. Makes me raise an eyebrow for sure.
Not a red flag in my mind about coaching but rather a red flag that should be popping up in front of some players! Discipline!! Something that is getting shorter and shorter in supply these days!!

Discipline is also part or Basketball IQ. As a player if you want to be great all those things must be incorporated into your mental aspect of the game. That’s why I always say coaches coach and players play. This isn’t easy on Pedon. A coach with his head and heart in the right place doesn’t want it to come easy anyway. Time is the greatest teacher of all

I remember when Bruce Weber offered a young phenom named Jereme Richmond a scholarship in 8th grade. That worked out well for both.
Hey, you don't have to offer in 8th grade. You need to be in the living room early if you haven't made the tournament in 25 years and getting pounded by Valpo at home by 20.

After a 20 point home loss to the #309 Beacons, not really.
every MVC result against a non-Division I school (mixture of D-II/III & NAIA):

Lincoln (Missouri)
• Southern Illinois (L, 51-88)

Missouri Science & Technology
• Missouri State (L, 47-82)

St. Ambrose
• Drake (L, 48-124)

Trevecca Nazarene
• Belmont (L, 53-83)

Trinity Christian
• Illinois-Chicago (L, 48-82)
• Indiana State (L, 68-105)
• Valparaiso (L, 60-96)

Wartburg
• Northern Iowa (L, 49-105)

Lindsey Wilson
• Murray State (L, 53-90)

Wisconsin-Parkside
• Bradley (L, 59-93)

not one result less than a thirty-point win

so, hyperbole

It’s a fine line. You discipline these kids nowadays and they leave.
We have this issue where I work. Kids these days are working at 40% of where they should be but due to a labor shortage, everyone is afraid to say something because they’ll leave and the workload of those dedicated then goes through the roof.

And that is why we are in a sad state these days. I applaud the coach that keeps pressing forward though!!
Im addressing the educational side.

Agreed, this roster could indeed compete in the CCIW.

The whole schtick is ridiculous. Would Illinois Wesleyan take Bradley to overtime in Peoria? Would Carthage lose on the road in OT to a Murray State team with a 7-1 home record? North Central going to lose a one possession game at UNI?I sure as shit don't think Augustana beats Belmont. I don't imagine the fine athletes at Elmhurst College can get up and down the floor with Missouri State and beat them by 10 either.

It was a garbage game. ONE game. They turned around after that performance and nearly knocked off the Valley's highest rated NET team on the road. They've been competitive and had legit chances to win in most every other league game.

So you’re saying we could win the CCIW?! 😉
