Agree with all of that, fourth. Just add this... Mistakes may determine the outcome. Take care of the ball and make them try to win with no help from us. I like our chances

agreed ... when I say mix it up and throw more, you do have to draw a fine line in game like this, like you said. So a conservative pass attack does make some sense. But their run defense is much stronger than their pass defense .. so we should try to find the holes wherever they are.

:text-+1: I am with you Fourth. I feel like ISU will do gown easy to UNI if they use the run only at all cost game plan they have used (or have been forced to use?) verses weak to marginal FCS teams this year. I like our defensive unit a lot and have the opposite view of the ISU offense unit. The ISU offensive strategy seems to be to play not to lose and that works well against inferior competition. That strategy will not bode well against legit FCS playoff caliber type teams. We have played one of them this year and Uni is most likely our second FCS playoff caliber teams. So, rRely on run?...Absolutely!>> but gotta have some form of pass game to keep the defense honest.

both defensive drives, looking very stout so far .. run and pass defense. Keep an eye on #80 though

I like our play calling so far. UNI is a very good defense. Nice answer on drive after they scored ... at about their 5 now at end of Q1. Proctor gave us a lift and Davis is making some good plays.

The play calling was much better on the scoring drive and a lot of that was Davis with some great reads.

Big time answer!

I must be watching a different game.

Everyone in America knows we are running on third and short and then fourth and short.

Dumb.

turned it over on downs, but defense gets another 3 and out .. pass defense has been very good except for theirt TD drive. we're guarding well for most part ... need to get to QB more.

Felt like we were in good shape.

One mistake and they execute to perfection.

Difference between a good quarterback and a below average one.

Notice Davis seems to struggle to improvise
:text-+1: I have thought the same. Lacks some football/qb IQ. I like the UNI qb...knows when to throw the ball away and when to scramble. Davis struggles with both IMO.

Well, that was a terrible turn of events. Davis started out pretty strong but since he missed that long pass downfield he has not really been on target much. That last interception was huge and UNI took total advantage. The three-man rush is not working for the Redbirds. UNI QB had allllllll day long on the TD pass. He just waited for the receiver to clear and pitch and catch. They need to take the 2nd half kickoff and get some offensive momentum.

except most coaches, in fact, run on 3rd and 2, and 4th and 1 in that situation.

agreed on Brady and our pass rush

Davis seems like he struggles once he has to improvise ... like when he scrambles or even when he has a lot of time and doesn't throw to first option .... basically, when he's forced to read the field after initial option breaks down.

Pass rush .. we seem to really respect their QBs leg more than his arm, and are not sending pass rush as often .. he's only 9 of 22, was 6 of 18 before the Davis pick and short field drive.
