I see we've added commit Benjamin Harman DL from Stoughton, Wisconsin.

Stoughton is a smaller city, 12-13,000 population, about 15 miles south of Madison. Football this year was only 4-5 in the regular season, but made the playoffs as a 7th seed in the sectional. They went on the road Friday and beat 2nd seeded Greendale (Milwaukee suburb) 41-20.

Our guy, Harman, had 3 sacks in the game.

Stoughton kept on with their underdog streak, taking out 3rd seeded Waterford 27-16 after beating 2nd seed Greendale the week before. They face off against top sectional seed Monroe Cheesemakers on Friday.

Our commit Ben Harman was again the defensive star of the game:

While Schipper shined on offense, senior defensive lineman Ben Harman continued to be a game-wrecker on defense. For the second straight postseason game, Harman collected three sacks. He also forced a fumble in the win. In two playoff games Harman has 15 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and six sacks.

Nice feature story today in the Madison paper about our commit Mr. Ben Harman. Big game tonight.

Harman has produced a breakout season since clearing the mental hurdle. The senior leads Stoughton with 11 sacks and 36 tackles this season, according to WisSports. As a result, Harman was selected as the Badger Small Conference defensive lineman of the year and earned unanimous first-team all-conference honors.

I've been trying to keep up with our Indiana and Wisconsin commits.

Both Indiana guys' teams are out of the playoffs - Wyatt Boals at Middlebury Northridge, which is near South Bend, and Harlen Summers, from Evansville Reitz HS.

In Wisconsin, Ben Harman's Stoughton team has fought its way to the semi-finals in Division 3, the third largest class, as a 7th seed. Playing tomorrow night vs. Grafton for a spot at the state finals at Camp Randall Stadium.

Did he have any offers from the Dakota schools? I know USD and NDSU were interested at one point.
Doesn't look like it. I think it's worth mentioning that Carson has only appeared in 3 games as a back up. I think he will be given a redshirt this year that will allow him 2 years remaining to play. He could use those two years at Sacramento State, but the starting QB is a junior this year. I don't think it would hurt to bring him in for some more QB room competition and depth if he wanted to play with Gavin. Unlikely but possible.

This story is about Joliet Catholic RB HJ Grigsby, 6' 180 lbs. Story about his gritty performance in state finals playing with injury (278 yards rushing in the game). Says ISU is one of his recruiters, altho may not sign early to get more schools interested.

I wonder how Isu recruiters strategize on these types of situations. I know it happens all the time. Recruit interested unless something better comes along and wants to wait. Unless ISU believes player is a major diamond in the rough/hidden gem I suspect they move on? That would be my philosophy as there are so many players out there so why be held hostage.

Further Also speculation but guessing (with Nil rampant) that a player who is trying to hold out now for something better maybe be more prone to hitting the portal once they do develop as the player or family/support group already felt the player is worthy of something “better”
