Today's Indianapolis Star has an article about the top 12 HS running backs in central Indiana, and one is shown as having an offer from the Redbirds.

Garrett Sherrell, Brownsburg

The 5-8, 190-pound senior is one of the area’s most accomplished running backs. He rushed for 1,086 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior and caught 18 passes for 242 yards and two TDs. Sherrell goes into his senior season with 2,012 career yards and 24 TDs. He has offers from Austin Peay, Butler, Illinois State, Tiffin and UIndy.

Today's Indy Star has top 25 offensive and defensive HS FB players from central Indiana. Don't see any on defense, but the offense list includes two with ISU offers:

Donovan Hamilton, Hamilton Southeastern, Sr./Wide Receiver

2022 stats: The 6-4, 190-pound Hamilton caught 50 passes for 814 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior and also completed a 50-yard pass for a score. He also played some defense for the Royals, intercepting two passes. Hamilton has offers from Army, Austin Peay, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Indiana State, Miami of Ohio, Ohio, Southern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Garrett Sherrell, Brownsburg, Sr./Running Back

2022 stats: The 5-8, 190-pound Sherrell rushed for 1,086 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior and was a major threat as a receiver, catching 18 passes for 242 yards and two scores. Sherrell has 2,012 rushing yards and 24 rushing TDs for his career. He has offers from Butler, Austin Peay, Illinois State and Tiffin.

South Bend Tribune lists the top 10 HS FB prospects in the South Bend area, including one of our commits, DL Wyatt Boals:

Northridge senior defensive lineman Wyatt Boals

Boals committed to Illinois State in June. He will play both offensive and defensive line for the Raiders this fall. As a junior, Boals totaled 20 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has a list of the top 57 HS FB players in Wisconsin. Many say they have "offers" w/o listing specific schools, and others have multiple schools listed, but I could find only one listed as holding an offer from ISU:

Braxton Riha, sr., Kewaunee

The offensive lineman has developed into one of the best in the state and holds an offer from Illinois State along with several D-II schools. Riha was a first-team all-conference selection in the Packerland as a junior while finishing with 28 tackles as a member of the defensive line.

Article in today's Indianapolis Star about Indiana HS game, Brownsburg 35 - Franklin Central 21, with the headline "Brownsburg RG Garrett Sherell might be the best player in the state". ISU has offered Sherell, other offers from Austin Peay, Butler and DII Tiffin. Coach says "A lot of people are missing out on him. He's special".

32 carries for 184 yards. 3 TD's.

Let's just keep him a secret for a little while longer??!!

This weekend, recruit Garrett Sherell gained 274 yards rushing on 24 carries, 3 TD's, including one of 76 yards. Undefeated Brownsburg is 5-0. The team has an Iowa commit and a Minnesota commit.

Today's Indy Star has a mid-season look at potential candidates for Indiana Mr. Football, including our recruit Garrett Sherell of Brownsburg.

I keep updating on this kid because the Indy Star has listed him as having an offer from ISU, and I sure hope he eventually commits, because his team is #1 ranked in the state and he has put up some great stats. Friday night Brownsburg won 59-21, and Sherell had 340 yds on 9 carries and 4 TDs. Wow. That's averaging like 40 yards per carry???

We've got two commits from Indiana - Wyatt Boals 6'3 275 DL Northridge HS, Middlebury, IN and Harlen Summers 6'3 280 OL Evansville Reitz HS, IN - and I've been updating now and then on recruit Garrett Sherells from Brownsburg, who ISU offered and on paper was his best offer as of September.

Northridge is 7-1 and ranked #3 in the media poll and #6 in the coaches poll in Class 4A (there are 6 classes). Reitz is undefeated and ranked #2 in both polls. Brownsburg is undefeated and ranked #1 in the media poll and #3 in the coaches poll in Class 6A, the largest schools.

I know everyone likes to get winners in here.

I see we've added commit Benjamin Harman DL from Stoughton, Wisconsin.

Stoughton is a smaller city, 12-13,000 population, about 15 miles south of Madison. Football this year was only 4-5 in the regular season, but made the playoffs as a 7th seed in the sectional. They went on the road Friday and beat 2nd seeded Greendale (Milwaukee suburb) 41-20.

Our guy, Harman, had 3 sacks in the game.
