However, one of the current signees, though skinny is 6'9", and projected to grow a couple more

:text-+1:

His HS coach thinks he'll be playing at 6'11 240+ next year. That'd certainly help.

Well we are full up on scholarships for next season, so the big guy dreams, barring a transfer are not happening.

Disagree with you Quinn....It is almost a certainty that at least one player that is expected to return next season will not return for one reason or another. Remember Muller is just as likely to privately suggest that a player might want to move on/play elsewhere as a player is likely to leave at their own discretion. Things change and too often players end up not being a good fit for the coach/program. From what I have been told that is now common in college basketball hence why the d 1 transfer portal has over 700 players annually

Beyond that ff ISU can find a big they really want then Muller will make room/have a scholly for him at the expense of someone else's scholly. It is part of the unpleasant side of big time college sports which is why I chuckle whenI read that Muller (and every other d 1 coach) is doing what they do because the players are "student" athletes. That stuff happens in D3 but it is nearly non-existent in D1

TCU’s Bane was a stud. A lowly recruited kid from Muller’s backyard in Indiana, from a Catholic HS. Another Dylan Windler. Gotta find these kids and get them to ISU. He could make a Valley team the preseason favorite, not the BIG 12 cellar dweller pick.

But if we recruited and signed them, some would say they can’t be any good because of their lack of offers from big schools....

Sgt, agree. I like a lot of parts to this team. If we can bring in just a 6-8 beast...I will be happy. It’s ironic...one year we need guards, then it’s bigs. Hopefully next year we can have both.
IMHO Sissoko is that beast. At least he is physically and athletically in that realm

Serious question, then: why not play him now? Especially if Taylor can't go. Our depth is thin enough up front that we're having to use Hillsman as a F if our bigs get in foul trouble. What do we really have to lose at this point? Fear of him swimming in the deep end and hurting his confidence???

Agree here completely. One thing Muller is not is a Jacobson type that can redshirt guys and develop them, and enjoy that 5th year senior emergence. Name one 5th year senior at ISU the last 8 years. If Bruninga can’t go play this kid this year.

I understand someone will probably leave, though at this time last year we saw some writing on the wall for guys. This year I don't think it's as obvious on who may transfer.

Muller’s already signing lower offer kids. Just needs to strike gold on the right ones. Easier said than done, but ISU seems overdue for some luck.

”lowly recruited” with a big 12 offer?

i tend to agree with ISU FAN's assessment. if you click "show other offers" it's not the most impressive list.

but it only takes one power Conf offer to eliminate the low recruiting concept. ISU will nearly always lose the recruiting battle to even the bottom power Conf teams esp now that the MVC is irrelevant.

Not really sure how this is relevant but watching a replay of last nights Wichita State- Oklahoma game. One of Oklahoma’s key players is one I forgot about- former Shocker Austin Reeves.

Why in God’s name would an athlete ever consider ISU over a bottom dwelling P6 school.
