That’s why he isn’t getting more than 2900 people’s dollars.
Maybe so. That's what he inherited and he knew it when he took the job. Discussing personnel issues with any/everyone who calls is a pretty good way of being shown the door yourself. He's an attorney and he'll play it close to the vest. He'll make his decision like a professional and announce it when he feels it's appropriate. And he'll do it in consultation with his boss.
Until then I hope the kids who are here (Redbirds) play hard, get better and win every game they play.

Have not commented on this board for years but have been a faithful reader of posts, great entertainment and good/bad news about ISU sports.

My history as a donor. And, have always been a supporter of the ISU agricultural alumni since I graduated in 1981.

Back to athletic donations. BD years $500 a year plus football and basketball tickets.

Moved over to redbird arena but BD left, I got married, started family and life got in the way. But wife and I would do the holiday package and individual games.

PM new coach went back to $500 and football and basketball tickets. Jane was ok, and side note not sure the years but several ISU/Bradley games were truly well played great games.

“O” was also exciting player and wife and I started going to STL.

Dan showed up, much promise but last few years since 17 MVC win season been not good to brutal.

I watched 1983 (I think that was the year) MVC championship game in Horton, ISU/SIU championship in I think 98 in redbird.

I should be a donor but since 17 win only the next year did I give/buy any tickets

Sorry but hour drive, etc to see a not good product is something I am not doing anymore.

Spack is fine, if doesn’t improve next couple years then you need a change.

Basketball has been do for a change at least 2 years ago.

I’m retired should be in my prime but just don’t even want to watch TV games with the type of product we have been putting on the floor. Embarrassed to even where state out in public. It is just such a low point.

So, how do you get me back?

Change up top? Yes

BUT I need to see a commitment that ISU is committed to being successful in men’s basketball and football

To some that sounds elitist but those two sports are what defines a university in the sports world.

And, no contracts that lock you in for too long in the future.

Sorry rant over

My comment was not a knock on you. And I was not insinuating that your message to Kyle was, in any way, nasty or derogatory. My point is only that I’m sure he is well aware that many donors are not happy with where the basketball and football programs are right now. He is aware that there are many donors who want Coach Muller (and some that want Coach Spack) replace immediately. Kyle is not letting Dan go before the MVC Tournament is over. At that time, if donor’s are not happy with the basketball program and Dan is not gone by April, than schedule a gathering with all the other donors outside Redbird Arena and voice your opinion. But nothing put on this message board is going to affect Kyle’s thinking or actions, or results of the Redbird season. And he is not (nor would I) feel an obligation to return a phone call to every person who called and left a phone message or sent an email to discuss the current state of ISU men’s basketball. If you feel different than I do, that is perfectly fine with me. We all have a right to our own opinion. As for a voice, you have more say on this matter than I do due to the fact that I stopped becoming a donor two years after I moved from Normal to the Springfield area (2007) and no longer wanted to continue to drive up to watch the garage teams that Jank was scheduling. The weather & getting up for work the next morning also factored into my decision. And nothing since than has given me any reason to invest in season tickets again. I will continue to support the Redbird students wearing the Red & White uniforms as long as they are giving their all on the floor, and I am seeing it from this team.
Go you Redbirds!!!
Birdfriend72, I think this message is for you since you're the one who thought we assumed your message was "awful".

Cannot believe the game tonight against Purdue northwest is a 8pm game…
The MVC Voleyball tournament is being hosted by the Redbirds. The championship game is at 4 (ISU vs Loyola). It will probably be more entertaining than the basketball game

Preach. You think CEOs are answering calls from stockholders because they hold 2 shares in their Robinhood account? They're gonna pick and choose carefully what conversations can ensue and are mindful of slips of the lips being waved around afterwards. Its like people being shocked they don't get any in depth comments from coaches and staff in on air interviews. Best you'll get is coach speak or AD speak. Bitch if you must but it is what it is
