I mean it's just open paying of students at this point. Illini Guardians

“The world of NIL has opened dynamic and exciting opportunities for student athletes to market their individual name, image, likeness and voice.

This has created an unprecedented need for a trusted liaison group to raise NIL funds and match opportunities for students and the Illini Nation with integrity and innovation that will keep our athletic programs among the country’s elite. Illini Guardians is exactly such a group.”

-Kendall Gill, Illini Hall of Fame

Liberal use of the phrase, "country's elite."

Well, if he wanted to play in the NCAA Tournament in his final year of eligibility, it looks like Reeves upped his chances.

That is the general rule and reality. Mid-major players and coaches will leave for perceived greener pastures if they have success. But rules have exceptions and that's what you strive for now. Somebody somewhere will recruit some underrated players and the nucleus of that team will stick around long enough to be a disrupter in the NCAA tournament. It might be harder than ever to put together a Cinderella team but there will still be a few glass slippers out there.
In the mean time the power brokers are minipulating eveyone into financing their windfal.

DePaul, ASU and Wisc all make the most sense for Antonio. I wish him the best and hope we see him on the national stage for next year!

I can’t see Tone thriving in a Wisky/Greg Gard environment. As suggested by a much wiser poster, he needs a double/triple screen offense to show his talents.

Illini rumour is official.. Curbelo out. With the super seniors gone and rumblings of others entering the portal, is it a rebuild?

Not sure where I’m supposed to post this- the recruiting board scares me with all the different sub-forums and I don’t want to get in trouble for putting in the wrong spot

I threw him out in the recruiting forum for you. Not great offensively it looks like but looks like defensive player.

Not when the same rumors have them adding Skyy Clark, Terrence Shannon Jr, and Adam Miller (again) into the mix. They also think NIL money will convince Kofi to stay at around Ayo’s rookie deal numbers.

I’m not his advisor but I might just tell him to stay away from Arkansas. They just signed the number 22 overall ranked high school senior in the country. He is joining what was ranked as the number 2 recruiting class in the country. Then again what do I know; I think I have the lowest IQ around here.

The “latest” is that UCONN, Maryland and….. UNI have reached out. How funny would it be for him to just give the middle finger to the Birds and staying in The Valley. I root for stories most of the time and that would be a very fun one to watch.

Uh- that’s worse than us on here being jerks. UNI isn’t a power house that will get him to the NBA. If he is going to stay in the Valley- stay here.

He's not going to the NBA. I bet there are 15 players playing in the Final 4 this weekend that would average 20+ ppg in the Valley, playing on a bad ISU team and most them won't be playing in the NBA either. Reeves will get a serious wake up call if he goes to a "blue blood". He's a role player at Duke, UK, UNC, etc... These guys not only can score, but they can defend, finish strong, and they have more recruits that can do the same.

I would guess there is a 0% chance he goes to UNI. Were I to place bets on his future location, I would say Wisky or Bama, with a potential darkhorse in Oklahoma.
