Losing Ridgeway was horrible blow because he has no Integrity in my opinion I'm sorry for being a farm or he should stick to what he knows and who he does and where he stays I'm sorry do they say football is a disaster at this point just like a basketball team
Folks, this is what a post looks like after a long night with Jim Beam.

I remember the good old days when you saw a freshman kicking ass and you'd think, isn't that great we have somebody to build around. I'm looking forward to seeing him play the next four years, bla bla, bla. Now you just shrug knowing they'll be gone in the night...it's definitely ruining the game for me.

But I hope Ridgeway doesn't end up on the bench at some SEC school. Kinda like to see him play for LSU and then on Sundays somewhere. Nobody could fault him for wanting a big time FBS opportunity. He only has one life to live, might as well swing for the fences.

The Illinois staff is doing a fantastic job so far in the state. I wouldn't exactly call what that staff has done so far to make up for the mistakes Lovie made stupid.
Santa, I will never use reason or give kudos to anything Uof I. It is wrong, but the truth!!

I hate to see him go but for Ridgeway it is likely the best move. Whoever gets him will have a solid fixture in the middle of their D Line. I am not really an Illini fan but I have been watching what is going on there. Lovie did not leave the Illini in great shape. From what I have read it sounded like he did not have a strong relationship with the Illinois HS coaches. If true that did not help. In the end, I always thought Lovie was an NFL guy and would not transition well to college. He also is a solid D Coordinator but a mediocre Head Coach. He had name recognition and that is what the new AD was going after to bring some interest to a moribund program. They are the state school in the Big 10 so I would like to see them do well. I don't know what style of defense Bielema favors so maybe that is a factor in not looking at Ridgeway. Maybe he is comfortable on the D line and has other more pressing needs. Maybe he just does not believe he can land him with all the big boys pursuing Ridgeway. Whatever the reason I will try to tune in to the team Ridgeway lands on next fall to see how he does. I guess a positive is the Power 5 teams are pursuing former Redbirds. The coaching staff has found some good players that the Power 5 missed. Except of course at the QB position where Spack's priority in recruiting continues to appear to be looking for the next DB or LB for his defense. (Sorry, had to take the shot!)

Bielema ran a 4-3 at Wisconsin but I have no idea what he's run since then. More importantly, Ryan Walters (who was a great hire) is most definitely a 4-2-5 guy. But.... He morphs it into several fronts so at times someone lines up as a nose.

Looks like Illinois is finally interested... they're just a little slow. Hard to believe with him sitting basically in their back yard. I kinda feel he's going to Michigan, cause they really need him there. Ridgeway is smart. He's looking at each team's depth. Gonna miss ya big fella! Loved they way you hustled for us!

Sucks for the Birds but good for Ridgeway. If he plays well for Arkansas he will get drafted

He's going to play at AT&T Stadium, at Georiga, at Ole Miss, at LSU, and at Bama. One game in Little Rock and six in Fayetteville. Are you kidding me? Absolute chance of a lifetime. It doesn't get much better than that. I just watched their spring game. They played multiple fronts on defense. Barry Odom is a good coach and DC. The teams going to suck but I digress.

Arkansas was surprisingly close to going 6-4 last year, but yeah the SEC West is a brutal division.

We were discussing this a few days ago in the seniors coming back! Guess we put it in the wrong thread.
