There is a separate tab on the WSF site to donate towards the Indoor Facility. The folks who are WSF members will see this - those of you who are not - feel free to donate for the first time. Even $25 or $50 is a start. Heck, you probably spend more than that on phone per month.

I know there are some on this board who are very generous towards many avenues of the athletic department. What I have found lacking is the communication about projects people donate to. If I make a contribution towards a capital campaign, such as the Indoor Practice Facility, at least provide an update. Some people may be willing to donate more as we get closer to make it a reality. Another piece lacking is the actual ask. Every WSF member above a certain amount, say $1,000 a year, should get an ask about contributing to the Indoor Practice Facility. Even if it's donating $100 a year for the next 5 years, that's something.

Hopefully as new people come onto the development side, that is something that can improve.

This. Provide a general timeline and a rendering or two, and I think a lot more progress would be made. Easier to give to something if you know there is an actual plan in place and you can SEE what your donation would be going to.

What Reggie and Ballwin are alluding to - is a lack of leadership, with a vision, determination, knowledge and ability to get a project started and completed.

Just putting out a line on the Internet and waiting for it to happen - then throwing up your hands, saying the support is not there - it Not the way to go about business.

Even my patience with AD Lyons is growing thin .. I now understand why many others having already lost patience with him.

This needs much stronger advocacy, higher visibility, and constant promotion ... that's how stuff like this gets done .. and it is all positive stuff. I'm starting to get the feeling, he doesn't like to ask for money .. or maybe more to point,he doesn't know how to or is bothered that he would have to ask more than once for fear of feeling like he's begging maybe ???

AD Lyons .. To be clear, this is part of the job. This requires constantly asking for money to support athletic programs beyond the very limited budgets available. If you are not comfortable doing this and/or demanding your people do this ... you need to start now. There is no shame in asking for money .. it is all a positive thing ... so just learn to deal with this reality !!

Larry is a good guy, but he is an accountant, not an athletic director. Illinois State has never had a dynamic leader, who understands the business end, as an athletic director. I don't think it's too much to ask to have Larry reassigned while he runs out the clock until his retirement, there has to be something he can do within this administration. Illinois State has to pull the trigger on this ASAP and stop falling behind even further.
