Let’s face it. If Drake doesn’t shoot 4-30 from 3 yesterday it is two blowouts in a row. This is unacceptable. I don’t care if Drake is ranked. ISU basketball shouldn’t lose by 30 to anyone and never lose to an MVC team like this.

It has been 9 years are terrible basketball with one above average season that was a complete train wreck of an ending to that season.

I don’t care what it cost. Muller has to be fired. ISU has the money. I don’t care where it comes from, but get rid of Dan Muller. He’s disgraced the program and needs an embarrassing exit.
Careful, you’re going to be labeled “not a true Redbird fan” if you aren’t 100% ok with these constant beat downs

I hardly post anymore. There is not much of a point arguing that any of this is ok. We are currently getting embarrassed on the highlights of every game on each network.

It’s one thing to lose, but to be embarrassed over and over and over again, changes have to be made. There are no positives.

This Drake team would give those teams a run for their money. Loyola too.
This conference is such a shit show, Drake could go undefeated and probably get a 10 seed.
ISU? Ha! Forget about beating the dregs of this barf-bag conference (Evansville, Valpo, etc.), we can’t even compete. Muller needs to go. As in tomorrow.

Watch out...you’re “this close” to having BirdFriend unfriend you.
The horror.....

No, he doesn’t need or deserve an embarrassing exit. He’s not tanking on purpose. He should be replaced but he should be thanked for everything he’s done for Illinois State as a student, athlete and coach, because he gave it everything he had.

Thank you, Dan! There! As for his coaching job...not so much. Good riddance!

You can thank him. I won’t. No way he’s given all he’s got as the head coach. He thought he could coast and win. It’s destroyed the program. See ya.

To act like Drake is better than the Shockers team that went to the final 4 is laughable. Doug McDermott would school any of those kids on the floor. That doesn’t mean that Drake isn’t solid. They are good for this Valley. I wouldn’t be surprised if Loyola wins both games in 2 weeks.

Their best win right now according to KenPom is Missouri State (who is getting pummeled again by Loyola). They have won the games they’ve played, but have a long way to go to be in the league of Wichita or Creighton.

We want to justify this beat down. A great team doesn’t almost lose to us. They should win at home on a bad day by 10. They won’t make it to the sweet 16...assuming they make it to the dance. Loyola has a good squad. Porter learned how to recruit. I’m not sure what Dan is doing...except making too much money.

Drake played to the level of its competition in the first game - it's hard to get up for a team that is not good. But after last nite they showed what a real team plays like - like a real team is coached like. This is one of the lowest points I've seen in ISU hoops outside of the Richardson years - it's time to thank Dan but if you look at his face on the post games he knows he's lost his team and I feel he knows his time is ending at ISU

Thank you Dan! You have turned isu basketball into a national embarrassment. Watch any major network tonight and you’ll get to watch highlights of the Birds taking a big dump all over the Knapp center. Can’t wait to read bensons puff piece on this one. The new AD claims to be a big time fundraiser... prove it, raise the cash and CAN DAN. He’s turned this program into such a disaster I don’t have the energy to post here normally, but what I saw tonight is so unacceptable. Drake is a good team this year but anyone who tells you they are on the Wichita or creighton level is on crack. I am betting on Loyola handling them.

ISU played well yesterday and there is no need to take that away from them. There was a reason Drake went 4 for 30 ... Birds were active yesterday and you could tell there was an emphasis to contest the 3. It left Brodie open to go 1:1 and he made them pay going 10:for 10.

As far as today's game went ... the result was somewhat predictable when you have several key players logging almost 40 minutes ... especially with our lack of depth and experience. No legs generally turns into jump shots and lack of rebounding. Whether you acknowledge it or not Drake is a top 25 team this year by all measurements. The combination was most likely not going to be good.

BTW, for those of you that can't remember past the Gregg Marshall days ... Wichita wasn't always that good. They were the bottom to .500 team for about 12 to 15 years in a row. The 90s and early 2000s were not so kind to them.

Many of us predicted this type of outcome tonight including people betting in Vegas. It doesn't make it any easier. I will say I was getting worried about some of you that we haven't heard from in a while. I was starting to think you moved onto another team until they sucked!

If Drake does get a ten seed that would be impressive by the way from a mid major conference.

For those of you still watching games I think we need to focus on the growth of players and hoping they continue to make less or not the same mistakes game after game.

One note is how did all Illinois Universities miss out on these Drake kids, I have no idea if we recruited them but my goodness they know their role and I imagine have grown over four/five years.

Ok, I guess we are the only ones that’s had to play two days in a row. I guess that was Drakes janitors on the floor yesterday that allowed them to rest. 😂

That’s the difference. Pass, cut, rebound and play defense. Our system is dribble, stand around, shoot threes and play zone.
