3 straight offensive series, 3 straight turnovers around our own 30. We're cruising at 17-0 mid Q2 .... now 17-17 at half.

The last TO was a pick on sideline throw. What made it so maddening was we have the ball with 3 timeouts left, and just under 2 mins having lost momentum from prior 2 turnovers. So we're taking our sweet time making safe runs and one safe pass, while inexplicably letting the clock run out. We get a 1st down on a nice safe shovel pass, then we huddle and call a run play. Then we huddle again (tic toc tic toc), and we throw the f-ing sideline pass to the long side of field .. picked with 45 seconds, again around our 30. They score with under 15 seconds.

One ... why are we letting the clock run out on our last drive

Two ... if were letting the clock run out, why throw that f-ing pass ?

Great quarter and a half, then implode with the 3 turnovers.

Bryce Jefferson looking very good .. got to take care of the ball though. Defense looking very solid, getting more pressure than I expected.

Take care of ball, get the momentum right back.

Even good teams rarely win when they consistently do not take care of the ball. Jefferson played great and then consistently gave the ball away. How does he respond in the 2nd half? This may be a defining moment for him. Go Redbird!

The questions that should be asked of Spack. Why is Carson Camp not a Redbird? Did we even try? If so, again, why is he not a Redbird?

The last interception wasn't the QBs fault. Lombardi was open but slipped. It likely would have been completed.

Offense RB ? He’ll run jet sweeps or play action.. Why is Edgar playing unhealthy... Db’s releasing of WR look at QB scrambling .

Thank you for the response

I feel like I'm watching a football version of the basketball team . . .
Exactly. At least NDSU is getting their assess kicked by Southern. Hopefully their dynasty is over .... would sure make watching FCS a bit more dramatic. We still need a QB. Their true freshman playing his first game looks far more poised then Bryce, who's in his third year here. It doesn't look like our running game will be carrying the offense this year.

If Jefferson is under center next week, this program is broken. His decision making is absolutely atrocious. Meanwhile, the MVC is wide open and in true Redbird athletic fashion we are not next line for the changing of the guard.

Had 9 yards of grass to run with 40 sec left on the 20 and throws across his body into triple coverage, ignoring a wide open wr in the back of the endzone.

An awful way to lose a football game.

Let's be honest. That one didn't lose the game. 6 TOs by our QB lost the game . . .

That was as disappointing an ending to a game as I have seen in a while. The last turnover (of the incredible 7) by Jefferson was just a horrible decision. Run or throw it away but the receiver appeared totally covered. The Bison finally lose a regular-season game and the Redbirds could not take care of the ball. Maybe just a bad day. I hope so. Northern Iowa is next up then NDSU, both on the road. This is beginning to look rather ominous. But, SIU lost the opener and then knocked off the BIson. Who knows?

I love our incoming quarterbacks. Can’t wait to see them compete for the starting job the minute they step on campus.

The defense mostly looked good. They just had too many drives starting on their own end of the field. Simon got good pressure and he was a force. At the end of last season I said our corners needed to tackle better and Woods did that today. We had too many plays where USD QB Camp avoided the rush and made a big play. We've got to seal the deal when we get pressure.

On offensive the pass protection was very good in the first half. It slipped a little in the 2nd half. Pha'leak Brown was the best running tailback. He did have one fumble and he missed on a couple of pass protection blocks.

It was frustrating to lose this game but if the Redbirds cut down on turnovers and other self-inflicted wounds they can still compete with quality teams.

QB bad decisions. RB all have same style of running. no powering RB/no speedy slashing RB is in trouble on RB committee or our OL is just that bad. ISU never is there FB to run. Surprise the hell out of me when the FB got TD ! Edgar still hurt at WR why is staff wasting time on a injured receiver thats not 100% ! Please quit being bias on what players did in past years ! New Season .. New Developments ! Normally never pass to TE. Then see Tanner Taula in 3 wide set in slot lol... 3 Wide set you all routes to inside no one ran quick out or under as safety for QB to throw not sure if that would have made a difference. You have Kehpera and Carr whom may be the fastest receivers on the team and don't utilize their speed. Nagel is really the only guy the has decent speed. Grimes is a solid WR and Casper. Even the middle deep ball throw were bad defense on SD. Did anyone see a deep ball sideline completion made ? We dont have the WR to create separation or not using them ? Really dont throw short pass in middle either. You have all these talented guys and don't utilize their strengths. DL good penetration but really can't chase down a semi mobile QB. unsure on DB's they were leaving WR chasing fools gold QB of some of those completions. After 21 shannon got hurt at LB think this also showed on defense. Yes MVFC is wide open !

7 turnovers and still had chance to win. A gassed defense kept them in the game. The picked pass late in the second quarter cost them the game. No urgency in the play calling before the pick..run the ball and kick the ball down the field and you have the lead to regroup at half time. Jefferson has got to make a big jump next week in decision making and squeezing the ball on his runs.
