Love what Dan has done with MY. Not sure if many could have brought out what we're seeing in him at the level and consistency as we are... and MY attributes that growth to Dan as well.

Abdou's interview with Dick.

It provided a bit of insight into his recruitment. He said he chose ISU because Muller is the coach he trusted more than any other coach that recruited him. Abdou also said ISU was the only school where he met the President of the University during his official visit. I bet that is pretty rare because meeting the President implies to potential recruits that they aren't just here for their sport, they are here for an education. Pretty cool to hear Abdou have an interest in that.

Yes. Really good to hear from him!!! Speaks 4 languages and seems to be extremely interested in his education not just sports. Says he is very good at soccer too. We are blessed to have him. And I love how he trusts Muller. This is a recurring theme with the athletes. They really trust the staff which says alot about character and leadership.

Its a little over a minute long voice only recording with Dick asking him a bunch of stupid questions, none of which had to do with redbird basketball..... Even the others up to this point have been somewhat half assed. I look forward to watching these and learning a little bit about the players. Hey Dick, if you going to do these weekly interviews, how about you put some effort into them. :snooty:

It wasn't Dick doing the interview, it was color commentator Mike Mathews. ISU has been releasing 2 interviews per week. One is on camera with Dick and serious tones with good questions and everything and the other is with Mike and more "fun" to show a human side to the players. It's the same style as the Dan Muller Coach's Show with the player portion. Look at the difference between Milik, Phil, Abdou, and Tinsley versus Boyd and Gassman, clearly different formats all around.

Dan ranks high on the trustworthy and sincerity continuum IMO. He’s a stark contrast to a lot of the snake oil salesmen that aren’t worthy of being Dan’s peers in the coaching profession. Kudos the Abdou for his assessment of the recruiting landscape, and committing to a good guy like Dan.

We were talking to Matt last year after the Indiana State game in Terre Haute and my daughter was hesitant to talk to him. We told her, just go over and ask him if he would take a picture with you, he's a nice guy. He overheard us tell her that, looked at her and said, "Yeah, I think I'm a nice guy." LoL. He is a really good person, and he's really good around kids.

I was not surprised in the slightest when he gave up his scholarship because he truly is a high character guy. Definitely glad he represents the Birds.
