Why couldn't they have a made up video to show how it all will look? But either way it's going to be nice. I almost expected the letter to mention increased prices, but not yet I guess.

Probably something like this

It would be interesting to see if something this jacked up provides any more of a "home court" advantage. The home court advantage is fairly significant in college basketball and I wonder if this helps increase that advantage.

Happy Birthday Redbird Arena. Still looking good after 30 years. And a bargain at $17.2 million.

I'm hoping there are some photos when they put out the new seating maps. I have a feeling donations will go up and that will be on the information sent out. You probably are not going to put that in the first letter when trying to get people on board with the change.

This is long overdue and needed for Redbird Arena. I hope it's done well.

I'm all for doing something that's attention getting, like Boise St's blue turf football field.

Hold on to your wallet! Expect that my seat options will be further from the court unless my cheap friends hold on to their wallet as well. Don't know all my points will save me. I enjoy harassing all the friends and family seating behind the visitors bench :)

Get attention for performing on a normal court...no gimmicks for me. I do like our retro uniforms though.

:text-+1: Agree ISU fortunate to have RBA. Touch up the moat and get students behind team bench and down into the action especially since they are paying for ISU athletics.

I'm old school in a lot of ways, so I despise the flashy/artsy floor/field crap. Boise State gets a pass with their football field (and to a lesser extent, Eastern Washington too I guess), but these hoops floors are ridiculous. TCU, Oregon, even UIC...all look silly to me. Keep a basketball court looking like a basketball court. JMHO of course, but I'd puke if we ever did this at RA .

Fits with how a lot of kids want to play today . . . full boar street ball.

Hate Northern Illinois floor looks like asphalt, also tibit, Kennesaw states old basketball floor was in a Morton building in Bloomington here, where guys got together and played (they can be purchased), our old ISU floor was purchased and installed over seas some where, someone put a photo of it up a couple years ago on this site. u can buy them ie.

Want to buy the University of Cincinnati men's basketball team floor? You can, starting with a bid of $30,000-plus.

The UC court is up for bids, per govdeals.com. Billed as "NCAA Division 1 Portable Basketball Floor," the site says:

Sounds like they're filling in the moat. Hopefully they do the right thing and bring the students closer to the floor as well and don't make the seats overly comfortable.....that's a recipe for fans sitting on their keisters the whole game.

Can’t watch football games at Boise or Eastern Washington. Hurts my eyes. I like the traditional look as well.

Looks like a chalk/clipboard Muller would draw up a play with.

I really hope they give the students better seats. It might be a way to get to them to the games. I'd like to see at least 5 rows all the way across the bench side be students. Like the Orange Krush at Illinois games. I would think they could fill those seats.

I was looking today and I don't think the re-seat is going to be too much of an issue. They really don't actually sell that many lower bowl seats right now. For the Mo State game there are about 600 seats not purchased in the lower bowl. You take out the corporate/give away seats/student sections and probably only sell about 2,000-2,500 season tickets in the lower bowl. I am excited for this and hope they find a way to get fans that want to get excited about the game in the same sections. They really need to have sections for the older fans that want to sit and watch and sections for fans that want to stand and be involved in the game.

I will be more interested to see if anyone purchases the new 'premium" seating options. Most of the front row seats are giveaways right now and I don't think anyone uses the suite for most games. Glad they are trying, but I think a public bar area for fans would have been better.

Shouldn't that make it easier for the players to identify where they're supposed to be then? ;)

I've seen that done before and like the idea having students behind both baskets. It only works if you actually have enough students attend though unfortunately. Currently there aren't enough that go to have the students be spread out that much
