Why are we even dicking around with our floor at all? I think it is fantastic. Has anyone actually confirmed they are changing it at all or are we all just screaming for something to talk about?

I know they typically touch it up every summer with a new coat. I don't know if the design is going to change.

I've confirmed it's not getting a new paint job. Just the annual touch up.

I've also heard lower bowl renovations should be completed by VB season in 2019. New seats on the way.

So, nothing but new seats? No redesign? The moat stays? No suites or club? Must have been too expensive because smaller arena have been able to do it so I know it's not a logistical issue.

College sports is losing roughly 10% of its audience every year across the board. With that goes 10% of your ticket sales. I understand that we would LIKE to see the moat removed and enjoy having 3 or 4 more suites at RBA, but the market really isn't there for a big redesign on a facility that, honestly, is still among the better college venues in the country STILL after 30 years. If ISU starts selling 7500+ tickets a game this season and starts getting inquiries from high rollers who want to buy suites, I'm sure they will consider it, but I can think of 2 dozen other athletic facility needs that are more pressing than re-designing RBA.

How about just a simple new dual coat of paint for the west grandstands at Hancock Stadium or an improved clubhouse/locker room at the golf course?

The only confirmation I have gotten is new seats. I'm sure other changes will be made too. I remember Lyons saying that they don't make the parts for the lower bowl chairs anymore. I believe the plan is to do a complete renovation of the lower bowl next summer.

Where does it say that? Take a deep breath.

yeah, maybe we don't really need an arena overhaul from a fan standpoint, but the better it looks the more likely a key recruit might come here. I also heard they are planning on redoing the front of the building where the ticket sales happen. Enlarge it so people don't have to freeze while waiting in line, plus make it kinda like a Redbird hall of fame area. To me that's a great idea, but I'm not sure if and when that part will happen.

Then at the least, put some damn folding chairs down there or something. It's been 28 years of waste, having that concrete moat take up all that prime space. For such a beautiful arena, we have one of the worst lower seating areas in all of college basketball.

I think we’ll see a lot of pulling in the reigns on spending in BN until the impact of State Farm’s shrinking local footprint is determined. The only spending will be on the ill conceived sports complex our city/town councils are going to ram down the taxpayers throats.

I think we should make the Reggie Skull bigger at center court so it is easier for our players to shoot from the beak.

Blame Donewald. He’s the one who influenced the design.

I wish they could get the wood they had to replace when the snow came through to match better.
This! That stain sticks out like a sore thumb. Casual fans probably don't see it though.
